OPERA nightclub really sucks (pg. 3)

I agree, week nights suck.

We just need a venue that doesn't suck. All the good ones have closed down and many of us are being forced to goto Opera against our will basically.

There are other good venues in Atlanta but nothing big is really being booked there. I haven't been to Soundtable but I have heard good things about it. Recently I've been checking out The Shelter and although it's kind of small, I like that place as well.

how bout Tabernacle? or Gold Room even! I had a great time while Kaskade was playing there, abeit too many vip areas & the dj booth is too damn high!! But the bouncers & staffs are very humble & friendly!

I think I went over this theory before with some other TAs. It just a business tactic to have weeknights in order to make more $$ and to also accommodate the 18-21 crowd. It kinda make sense why Liquifed is doing it. For example: it doesn't matter how good your food is you just can't have a restaurant open only on weekend, and expect it bringing in exceptional profits!!

Apparently Marco was able to laugh off the jokes from the Florida TAs who were joking about this huge up. I hope that means he wasn't too insulted and will in fact be back.

Oh please, weeknights aren't the end of the world. So the next day at work is rough if you have chosen to drink all night. and yes, there's been plenty of times I've stayed out all night and been at work before rush hour was over...hangovers and lack of sleep are a part of life.

Every city everywhere has quality events during weekdays. This isn't an Atlanta "problem", an Opera "problem" or even really a problem. Move somewhere else and you will still find weekday events that you are interested in.

You aren't entitled to have events rotate on your life's schedule. Sorry.

The Tabernacle has to be the right show to do there due to the SUPER high rental costs. (actually costs more to rent the tabernacle then it does to book most artists)That being said we have a show there on October 1st that I will be announcing later today hopefully after the art is approved. As for the Gold room we have Felix Da Housecats Birthday Party there on Aug 20th hosted by Dallas Austin.

August 20th - Felix Da Housecat @ Gold Room

October 1st - Artist to be announced later today @ The Tabernacle

They probably have quality events during weekends, too, which ATL lacks from time to time... but I've not suffered much from just staying in 99% of the time, so... =P

Deadmau5 @ Tabernacle = WIN.

... and The Sound Table is great, but very, very small.

Atlanta gets plenty of good events on the weekend as well.

we don't need to turn this into another "what makes an event good" debate, because let's remember that music...especially dance music...is subjective

The only good music is the type I listen to. the rest of ye and your damn opinions.
