give devin a break if he stopped whos going to bring your edm ? MJ ? LOL please none of these half ass promoters do what devin does. |
Why defend Devin? This past year I have seen a change in the EDM scene here in Atlanta. He used to bring a lot more of the best djs and now it's almost all about the popular crowd. I understand the need to make money, but that's all it's about now. Plus, he continues to put events at a club none of us like. I understand we aren't his only concern, but I rarely see him address our concerns. You are right to a point though, he really is the only person who brings any type of trance here. I really enjoy Ferry and Markus, but why can't he just think outside the box a little. Bring someone we haven't seen here before. |

| I have thanked Liquified since day one of coming on these forums. But I've honestly noticed a change in the their attitude and the way they handle business since a little before the Tiesto show last fall. It got amplified when they actually joined with Opera 5 months ago instead of just using Opera as a venue. |

I never said Atlanta wasn't great for hip-hop. It obviously is, but this isn't a hip-hop forum.
My point was simply that a crappy local radio station running the #50 DJ in the world out of the club is ridiculous.
I'm not insulting Devin, he's done a lot for the scene. I'm insulting Opera and saying Devin should look into new venues. |

:stongue:
ok.... so you do realize that "#50 dj in the world" is a completely made up epithet begat by a niche popularity contest voted on predominantly by befuddled and sweating honkies right here in the states?
Essentially, it means nothing.
It's like having 200,000 people out of 6 billion determining that Nickleback is the #34 band in the world. |

Until you know me you can not say that at all. That could not be the furthest thing from the truth. My partner and I have been deep into dance music now for over 20 years and Liquified has been around going on 16 years and doing something we truley love and believe in. We love the music we bring to Atlanta and all over the US, if we didn't we wouldn't still be doing what we do. To say it's all about money is ridiculous.

Honestly there is not many options in Atlanta for venues. Like I said before its not always easy to adddress all the concerns. i work 50 hours a week with a graphic design job, I run Liquified in Atlanta and in Los Angeles, and I am a father and a husband. Its just not that easy to read every single thing on forums and address. I do my best at it, more then most promoters

We only bring these guys once a year and we promote a lot more genres then just trance. You have to balance it all in a city like Atlanta that only has so many people that support edm events.

I don't think you have any idea how many first atlanta appearances we have brought to Atlanta in the past 16 years. I dont think I could even begin to make the list of the 1sts we have brought to Atlanta. How long have you been going out to EDM events? |

I second Devin. Not only has he brought more trance names to ATL than I thought we'd ever get, but he's brought more names from every genre period. The ONLY thing that sucks about Liquified right now is Opera, and like he says, there aren't many venues around.
LOOK AT REALITY, ZACH. |

He is. In reality, the only new trance names (keep in mind, Zach really only focuses on the trance names) we've seen the last 2 years are:
ATB
Rank 1
Cosmic Gate
Max Graham
I'm pretty sure every other DJ that has piqued his interest he's already seen, probably multiple times. Meanwhile Zach has been reading about Charlotte getting so and so or Tampa getting so and so, or whatever. It's more or less the same complaint as always and the fact that Dream Beam is now discussing bringing yet another new face to Charlotte has probably re-ignited the complaint.
Personally, I've come to terms with the lack of trance DJs a few months ago. This really isn't a trance city. My only complaint now and days is the way business is being handled when those trance DJs do come. |

Blake Jarrell has also been here.
None of those guys were here when I started going out years ago. Be patient :wtf: |

Blake was here in 2007...which is technically not a new face in the last 2 years then...plus he's more of a progressive house DJ. A little trancey...but not really trance.
Like I said, I don't care who comes anymore. Atlanta isn't a trance city. I'm just pointing out Zach's complaint in more detail since I'm fairly certain he and I are on the same page. |

Thanks, and I do believe we are on the same page. You are right, the Charlotte discussion did re-ignite the complaint. They take more of an interest in bringing more new names it seems, especially trance names.
I have been going to events for probably 5 years and I just haven't seen many new names passing through. I mean, when ATB came, I was pumped because it had been years since he passed through. I've seen Markus, Ferry, and PVD 3 times and it could have been more if I had made it to every one of their shows. That list Liquified posted does have a lot of variety, but I just don't understand why it's so hard to bring more trance. I know more people would get out to see someone like Gareth Emery than say, Treasure Fingers. Maybe it's not always about the big name djs, but when it comes to trance, the only ones we get are the big ones. Out of those 35 or so names 3 or 4 are trance, that's not a great number. I'm not asking you to bring 90 percent trance, but me, along with many other on here, would love to see more. |

DEVIN, DO YOU REALIZE HOW MANY PILL PUSHERS HAVE LOST BUSINESS SINCE WE DIDN'T GET GARETH EMERY?!
THIS IS AN ENTIRE ING UNDERGROUND ECONOMY YOU'VE PUNISHED WITH YOUR LACKADAISICAL, PASSIVE NATURE.
