Fishing in Ontario 2010 - Advice Needed

I've noticed this season ... things are very odd.

1) I don't see any regs @ my spots & its all new faces

2) Rare to see "Anyone" catching a bass; small, med or large and it's mostly stupid sunfish. Previous years, I would catch the baby size bass and release them into the waters.

3) I went to 2 new spots and got the same results.
-Niagara Region
-Port Perry

Normally, I go to Chemong Lake close to the Peterborough Area. I usually fish by the shore and noticed the locals are not as friendly anymore. They use to wave and greet everyone, but now they seem cold and younger generation show signs of racism towards the fellow yellow and the brownies. Even this Pro Chinese guy, I use to see him every weekend by himself has not been there. He's been fishing that same spot for almost 13 years, but disapearred recently. (One time he was "kinda" of teaching us, pulled 4 large bass within time frame of 5 mins. Dude casted, yank + wheeled & unhooked, most impressive fishing I've seen)

Port Perry had some serious racism there; I almost knocked out some kid for his stupid Chinese comments.

Has anyone noticed the problem this year with disappearance of the bass?

Where do you guys go fishing?

All Scugog river:
1 catfish -worm
3 med. size bass -high action lure
lots of small bass, sunnies -worms

I have actually caught more bass than sunnies this year. Haven't been out as much as last year.

The local papers try to skirt around the issue of 'nipper tipping' whenever another angler assault occurs, but there is a strong undercurrent of racism, and the assumption that non-white = poacher.

As a rule, earlier is better.

I've never tried early morning fishing yet ... all my fishing buddies do it all the time and they confirm it's the best. Indeed you need a boat for sure, i really dislike the new boating lic.

This whole nipper tipper issue, since it started ... i'm ready to some ppl up and always on guard. Chemong lake never had this unfriendly'ness, even when lake simcoe started these recent assaults.

Even from fellow yellow POV, I hate these mainlanders from China. They are not friendly at all; rude as , trash the places and they don't even release the baby bass ... even when it's the law. Of course I'm not like that, and not all of them are like that too. The majority of them ruined my experinces with fishing over the years.

It's a messed up view TBH, all the yellows and browns on the shore and the whites crossing by on their boats.

Thanks homie, gonna do some HWK on your location.

it is getting later in the season for bass though. I have noticed bass up in Parry Sound are harder to catch and smaller then in the past. I know zebra mussels and carp have been a big factor in the bass population in parry sound.

I think locals are pissed off with toronto people invading their area more and more. I know that up there, toronto people seem to carry an increasingly marked arrogance with them that might result in hostile reactions from otherwise friendly locals. And im not saying this is the case with you btw. Perhaps they take this out on visible minorities because they are the most obvious non locals? Either way its disgusting and not cool.

there's pretty much nothing that makes sense whatsoever in this thread.
The bass are bigger than ever this year on the end of my line.
Nip tipping is an invention of media and jayx1 is just rambling as usual.

LOL, I keed!

But nip-tipping was rampant near Keswick. It took a big accident and event a couple years ago to put an end to it.

I haven't gone out once this summer yet :(

Justin also is an avid angler;

I am still ROFL that there is a term for, and that something like "Nip-tipping" is even real or going on! LMAO!

WOW! :haha: :nervous:

sadly it was. the local kids in keswick thought it was funny until someone died from it on lake simcoe. ing horrible.

And in georgina there are huge parking wars and property wars going on now because the locals hate toronto people. They are even putting up private property signs on public spaces and telling people to leave when they have no right to.

Its getting really bad.

Sorry am i rambling again about things i apparently dont know about? my bad
