today,i finally got my dj equips..
but i just found a big big problem..

i bought my equips from japan,
so the ac power needed is 100v
but i live in canada vancouver, which is 120v.

so i wonder what will happen if i plug cords into outlet. :whip: :whip: :whip:

what can i do now? plz help.....no joke plz..:(

oops...You should have specified that you wanted the 120v. Well it shouldn't be that big a problem anyways. I dont know much about electronics, but i think you can buy a transformer to step down your wall voltage to TT voltage.

hmm...is the thing i need to buy call "transformer" ?
or what should i tell to seller when i go out buy the thing?

I don't think you'll ever find a 100/120 transformer .... yes 220/110 ... but not 100/120

with normal electrical appliance it wouldn't do any difference and chances are if you measured what came out of your wall if would range anywhere from 105 to 130 volts ..... voltage ranges according to the time of day and the use on your electrical network and tons of different factors....

so I say no worries , plug it in and spin!

but I still suggest you check with them concerning if you should get them changed or not ....

I know normal electrical appliances wouldn't mind but this is slightly more precise equipement ... I have no clue , I had two years of intense electrical classes but we never studied anything around these wattage TTs take ....

but my equips only need 100v, as for 130v,i really afraid that will hurt my equips :nervous:
i spent 1 year to save money for my equips.really fear if will get damage at the first day i get it.
thanx for the infomation jdat. really appreciate :p

what do u other guys think? should i plug in and start my dream.
i really cant wait, my equips just infront of me..but still no guts to plug and play.

I think you can take it to an electronics store/lab and have them replace the voltage switch in the appliances.... that way, you will have no trouble connecting the equipment......

when i got my techs, they came with a UK plug on them

so i just went to this store here in scarborough, it was in the mall
it was some appliance store...sold stuff like hair cutting razors, knives, etc.e tc. (i think its called cutters edge) and just picked up a simple little plug thingy that changes the plug from those weird 3 plugs to the canadian way

and there is a switch under the platter for 220/110

however on my search for adapters i did come across travel kits at wal-mart (i think), and basically it let you plug your appliance into it, and then choose the W you want to come out, and had all the attatchments on them
they were quite expensive though
probably around $50 each

ok well the [M] and [MC] serial number series are USA and Canada ... 120 V ...
what do you have?
( look up the list on here http://www.backspin.org/sl1200mk2.pdf )

the international ones are 110~120/220~240V

and concerning the current varying from 105 to 130 ... that happens on a daily basis! so it affects your tv, washing machine, comp , little bulbs, EVERYTHING ...
if you're really panicky go and buy a surge protector or preferabbly a line conditionner ( furman makes great ones )

PLUG THEM IN AND DON'T WORRY!

oh and people don't confuse: plug adapter and current converters! they're not the same thing .....
