Listening on headphones.

Kick much lower, now? Maybe up 1.5Db.

Sounds like you have some harmonic dissonance with the plucked chords and the delay.

Song is quite lovely though. Coming along nicely.

Left comments @ soundcloud. Sounding good! I really like where this track is going and the mix sounds very punchy already.

Thanks again chaps.

I've not quite zoned in on the sound of the HS80s yet. It seems that small changes I make in the mix translate to much bigger changes on 'normal' speakers.

As ever it's just a case of getting used to meh gear.

I think i've gone 'kick deaf' too

A fair bit added and a big gap where the break will eventually be. All that's in the break so far is....The Primate Army :D

The kick drum sounds much more plesant this time around, but I'm not a fan of the percussion in general.

I think you have some really nice components in this tune being held back by some really overused elements; elements that I'm sure you know I do not like.

To me, it feels like that great lead sound is lacking the freedom it deserves; like it's been glued in to fit appropriately with the typical trance elements and lacking a mind of its own!

Damn, I really hate doing this sometimes. I do try to help out, but looking over some of my responses, I sometimes get the intuition that rather than being constructive, I am in fact speaking far too personally. But I guess that I can't judge from a regular listener's standpoint if I'm not a fan of the genre.

Keep it up, old bean. I look forward to hearing more.

Mate your feedback is invaluable tbh.

I've said it before, but I really don't care who likes or dislikes my music because it is, as you say a personal thing. And I say that with a smile on my face and absolutely no bitterness at all. The fact you can be objective is a bonus for me :p

All I ask for in feedback is from a technical standpoint, as a relative novice to producing again.

I probably exclude 90%of people out there who listen by steadfastly sticking with 15 year old trance tunes, but that's what gets me going.

As always old chap, I appreciate the listen.

I am digging the out of this, once the track gets going. Really very top-notch stuff. That lead ing kills. Reminds me of a Beatmaster v. Chicane tune - only better! Can't wait to hear the finished product on this.

*bangs head to rhythm*

Oh, and the break should obviously be a place-holder and it's far too short. :p
tehlord
Hehe, the break's too short.

Your wish is my command.......

Yeah i'm still not 100% on the hats, and i've actually pulled them down a bit too!

Once I get the other 300 parts into the track i'll give it a thorough mixdown fo' shizzle!

defo sounding more pro now its got me tapping me toes the main lead you're using is clashing a bit as owsey says give it some room;)

Good call.

I may use the lead to duck out a couple of elements as it only happens a few times in teh track

Thanks for listening :)

Listening now man, sounds like a big step forward with the new gear! It reminded me a bit of the Askew style which I'm not really in love with but everything sounds pretty well balanced to me. The mid bassline especially struck me as having a nice lush feel to it. I'm using a pair of HS80s too and I really love them, I hope you three will be very happy together also! :D
MichaelHaber
Very nice. How many layers you use for the bassline?
