Love this track and never seen this mentioned before so I looked it up. I thought it was a vastly underrated track, but seems like it's gotten its fair share of remixes and appearances. Did Breeder do 2 remixes of this - Breeder dub and the UK Sub-merge Mix, or are they the same?

I'm not a big fan of vocals, as I've said in previous threads. Growing up with MTV, I long thought that the only acceptable music was pop, rock and rap and if you want to enter the music scene, you need to sing, dance and confirm stereotypes. All these stereotypes about how the music were into was decided by gender, race and sexual orientation.

So when I first discovered Safri Duo, which became a very large breath of fresh air for me as they were non-vocal, I thought to myself: "No more, pop, no more hip-hop, no more metal, NO MORE ING VOCALS, this is the kind of music I will listen to from now on!" And thus, I started digging into the (euphoric) trance genre.

When I discovered Armin and Co. was doing vocal jobs, I thought it was a complete no-brainer to only publish music I was tying to escape from the first place. C'mon, Armin. C'mon, Tiesto. C'mon, Above & Beyond. MAKE TRANCE MUSIC!!!

So all in all, I can't recommend any vocal trance. But I'm still waiting for a remix of this masterpiece:

TL;DR - I have a lot of nothing to say

actually, I find it more trancier than 'trance' these days which is why I've slipped into it so effortlessly. It's got better melodies, ideas and vibes than 95% of all trance I've heard in the last 3-4 years at least. There's still producers in trance who have 'it' but most don't do anything remotely 'trancey'

A couple of years back I got bored of modern trance and where it was heading cos it seemed to me that 80-90% of stuff I heard was lifeless heartless soulless drivel. You say some producers still have "it". Can you name a few? The current big names in the industry are making radio music not trance.

Which DnB artists make good "trancey" dnb tunes? I wanna catch up with the latest good stuff. Y'know! The stuff that actually makes you feel like time has slowed down around you. Art of Trance - Persia is a good example of the stuff I'm into. Even something like this is pretty good from about 4min.

A few of my all-time fave vocal trance tracks in no particular order are:

- Paris & Sharp - Aphrodite (Aphrodite Mix)
- Darren Tate - Prayer to a God (Orig)
- DJ Encore - Walking in the Sky (Future Breeze Remix)
- Signum - Coming on Strong
- Sunblind - Believe (Nu-NRG Remix)
- Li Kwan - Point Zero 2004 (Lost Tribe Remix)

with regards to trance itself, it has slowed down a lot but the good artists who still make (sometimes occasionally) would be such as Whirloop (member here on ta) John 00 Fleming (often with the digital blonde as 0.0db) Nicholas Bennison, Oliver Prime etc.

As for trancier drum & bass, the first artist to check would be B-Complex, esp such as girl with flower, three dots, redemption etc. Danny Byrd as I mentioned in the tune earlier has some pretty good stuff too. Then I guess to check out along the lines of Break - Light Speed, Klute - Hell hath no fury, Logistics - Kaleidoscope and Nu:Tone - Balaclava etc. They might as have been mentioned be 'popular' artists but it's a good way to start and then go on from it in the future.
