Sadly this type of dance music has been mostly relegated to cyberspace in the form of podcasts and other radio shows and is quite rare to be found in clubland right now. t lea\st that's how it seems to me.

sounds about right to me... ive talked to some djs in europe, and their clubs are heading towards tech, its much harder to do progressive shows, which for me is sad because i always thought atleast in europe progressive had a lot of push. oh well, it is how it is, its up to people to change it but the odds are against. that being said theres still good prog house here and there for sure.

I'd imagine it's still big in Russia though no? I mean if it wasn't for the Russians, I honestly don't know if progressive house would still be going today. It's like they picked it up when nobody wanted anything to do with it anymore.

im not sure, to be honest about there. for sure it must be way stronger in europe, i mean some of the best and most talented prog house these days comes around hungary, and they have so many artists and djs there i cant possibly fathom to think they dont have a good prog scene there. my gut tells me that prog house in russia and other parts of europe is pretty accepted and somewhat thriving but i dont know for sure, i can only hope, i only have to go on what a few djs tell me, and i trust their opinions, but it is only a small small sample. i know a few labels overseas that run their own nights, progressive based. i will ask a few more artist/djs i have contact with.

Yea, scene's nicely varied over here. Tone Depth has been playing a lot lately and people have been saying good things about his set. Opened at Stereo on Friday night for Sander Klinenberg and those who went say that he was the highlight. I'm guessing he plays mostly a mix of progressive house and big room techno.
Hernan is playing here soon too but it's at a "massive" which means that if you wanna go see him you have to pay $80 for a ticket and hear a whole bunch of DJs before him in which you probably have no interest whatsoever.
Hmm, what else? Henry Saiz was actually here a few weeks ago but I didn't go due to personal (religious) reasons. Sad that I missed that.
There's a guy I kinda know who recently started a progressive house night at Circus which I believe is supposed to take place once a month or so. I don't know how good he is though. Listened to a recording from the first event they had and I was really unimpressed. My favorite club here though is Salon Daome which is small and mostly plays house music. Hopefully I can muster up the courage to in the not-too-distant future to promote myself as a DJ as well. Just not sure what direction I would take when that day comes.
