I think you're using the wrong adjective. What you were looking for was more along the lines of "conceited", "egoistic", "narcissistic", "self-absorbed", or "self-centered".
By definition "Materialistic" means "to be thinking mainly about physical things", not jumping up and down screaming "Look at me! Look at ME".
That being said, you're foreign so I guess your lack of control over the English language is mildly excusable.
