Yeah, It's a mixture of Okinawan karate, judo, and Jiu-Jitsu. They call it Marine Corps Martial Art Program (MCMAP).

| I remember back in 2003 before I was joined up, one of my recruiters friends dropped by who was a 3rd degree black belt in MCMAP. He showed us a few things one of which I'll never forget, the removal of someones arm haha! He fought in several competitions and knocked someone out with a kick to the leg. This guy was ing deadly!:crazy: |

Christ, what does that mean? Did he kick him in the leg and he broke it, so the dude passed out from the pain/shock? Or is there actually a pressure point in the leg that will knock someone out? |

One of the reasons Marine basic is longer is because of the martial arts. It's more in depth, I still remember the training and basic techniques like it was yesterday, and could still put them to use in a scruff. Haha I was 20 days along in bootcamp, 6 years ago! As far as I know the Army only teaches a little hand to hand combat in basic training but they don't go as in depth as the Marines.
A basically trained Marine has a better chance of kicking someones ass than a basically trained soldier. Providing both have no prior martial arts background. |
The failing in these programs is the most likely time to use it - the program would be much better if they forced everyone to get faced loaded before combat training and exercises to give the real life aspect to it.
Seriously though its not just americans or american military personnel who get into fights - it happens to all types of people. |

Couple things wrong with this video :p
Firstly the American guy shouldn't have just let that guy punch him right in the face, what a ing idiot :stongue:
Secondly, that other guy doesn't look like a "clumsy fat " at all. He just has very little idea on how to throw a punch.
Once he landed that first one the American guy was obviously dazed, everything that followed certainly didn't help. |

That's my point exactly...he's got no clue about how to fight properly. He throws punches like a girl. A girl that can kick your ass, but a girl nonetheless. :p |
