| no worries. My grandmother worked catering throughout her working life including for a guy who owned the best bakery in town, so I got things like this drummed into me when I was very young :) |

couldn't hurt, as you don't want the frosting to melt and therefore lose its texture/consistency
and this is just a weird suggestion from a guy who has goofy taste in food, but i always preferred red velvet cake cold, out of the fridge. again, if made correctly, red velvet cake is really dense, heavy, and moist, and for some reason that in combination with tasty frosting and coldness = win. |

You will almost always need to let baked goods cool before applying other to it, such as icing. Unless you want what you're putting on it to melt. |

Yea I realized that was a silly question. The cakes are almost room temperature now, so I guess I'll be good to go in about 10 minutes.
