Actually, I've had quite a few good debates with Syst, and the reason why I think we've never declared a winner in any of our debates is because this isn't the point. At all.
He's the guy that tells me to please mind the gap between the brain and the keyboard, so I do my utmost best when I try to explain my concepts not just to him but to everyone nowadays. If your post is not well systematised, he'll do the systemajising for you :cool: |

I have to agree with System-J on this.
On the other side of the coin, trolling seems to be a lost art. People who want to call themselves trolls are way too obvious and offer themselves up as a troll when a real troll conducts his mayhem undetected and unadvertised as such.
Gargantuan word salads, simple antagonism, and unsupported conjecture are the hallmarks of a failed troll. The worst form of this, however, is anyone who gets caught in too many of his self-woven conundrums who then, for the sake of damage control, insists they were trolling, all along. They are truly of dismal, mediocre character who couldn't possibly understand the true nature of the conflict he or she was so fervently trying to sew. |

That's entirely because you are the kind of person who treats an argument as a dick-waving contest. If someone posts a flawless logical destruction of your opinion, you think of it as a slight against your ego. You either respond with an ego-slight of your own (a crap insult) or you protect your ego by refusing to think about it ("trolling!").
It's perfectly possible to win an argument on the Internet, and I have done it many, many times. Recent example: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...9&forumid=16&s=. When you argue with me, you may think you're giving as good as you're getting, but everyone else on the forum sees you getting pissed on by the long dick of logic. |
