What's up with the Tilda Swinton look alike causing trouble down there? ;)

:wtf:
I thought you would be in jail or married by now. :)
Gillard is everything the American public wouldn't vote for- lives in a defacto relationship, atheist and a woman.
Australians just don't like her on the basis that she's not very good, a backstabber and a ginger. :p

I think Obama is destined for 1 term, but he is likely to be remembered as a failed social experiment rather than an effective leader with good ideas (IMHO).
Sadly, I agree with this now, although a year ago I would have retorted with "Like the Republicans have done any better." speel. The only change I felt in the past two years have been a higher level of disappointment with government.
Well I guess I should add my biannual 2 cents to the mix ... granted I'm not the most impartial of folks considering I work in the banking industry, but I would say you all are crazy if you think that nothing is being done in the world of finance in response to recent regulatory reforms. I participate in the American Banker's Association for Systemically Important Financial Institutions and I can tell you A LOT of money is being spent to be compliant with Basel 2, Basel 3, the credit card protection act, the Dodd-Frank wall street reform act, etc.

As some one that voted for and still supports Obama(barely due to Patriot Act and other holdover's from Bush)
but what really irks me that the general public knows nothing of what has been done since he has taken office.
This past year has shown me that the American Public in general are spoiled lil kids that expect to be done over night.
My kids even know that does not happen over night.
I blame the ignorance of the Know Nothings ver. 2010 aka: The GOP/Tea Party
Seems pointless to me, if the ordinary American still can't work or pay his/her bills due to a low economy and high unemployment rate. Oh great we have all these new reforms now! But we still need food stamps to buy dinner. Great work.

I think the point is not as much that Obama is 'bad', he's better than Bush and a fair new flavour there. I think the point is that we all sort of overrated him and hoped he would basically herald the end of all human suffering.
I mean. The guy actually was far too idealistic and not realistic enough and he had very little political experience.
But in the end, he doesn't fabricate evidence as a praetext for war does he? Neither does he enslave the U.K. or basically ignore the fact that there's a world around him. He also isn't mind-controlled by his vice. He's just a regular praesident trying to do his job and failing as much as any of them. They're only human.

He doesn't understand how economics work. He is an ineffective manager. His staff of rats are fleeing the ship (supposedly they are all pretty disgusted according to several well-connected sources). He has passed major legislation that is He is driven by the crazy fringe of his party and has no interest in moving toward the center.
But then again, none of this should surprise anyone coming from me. He ing sucks and he certainly ain't better than the last guy.
/The end.

There is no one on the planet who understands how the oeconomy works, that is why companies go bankrupt and often make deals which in hindsigh were catastrophic. CEO's basically half of the time leave a company with less assets than when they were hired. Bad takeovers are done like it's nothing.
Basically the oeconomy is far too complex and dependent on small fluctuations to understand her. CEO's just make gambles and see if it pays off. People for instance praised Putin's management of Russia. But after reading those analyses it seems to me that none of the people who analysed and praised it really knew why it worked, it just happened to work. And I wouldn't be surprised that in a different time, maybe 5 years later or sooner, his ideas would have just failed.
Running a company is like playing D&D, it's fun to play with power and lives and thinking you're better than you are but in the end it all comes down to if the dice roll in your favour or not.

Here's some free fodder for the left. This guy is ing crazy. I may not like Rachel Maddow but god am I sympathetic for her in this interview. This guy should be shot.
