I did a search but didn't see anything pop up. So, anyone recommend this program? Pros and cons?

I have RE and it sucks... it takes ages for me to key a single song and it often crashes.

Rapid Evolution is just as accurate and free. A great program for keying tunes and learning about harmonic mixing. Just don't fall into the trap of relying on the software to dictate what tunes you mix together. Sometimes tracks that are in the same key or harmonically related don't mix well together because of rhythmic clashes. Never forget to use your ears.

Besides the crashing this is not the software's fault. RE isn't as stable but the key detection algorithm is more accurate.

This.

I have used RE for some of my mixes and most of my transitions turn out harmonic. Or you could always use your ear :)

It's . Wouldn't detect any keys of any tracks I threw at it.

It's decent... As mentioned don't fall into the trap of relying on the software to tell you what songs go together. That's what your brain and ears are for! :)

Agreed. I just didn't know if it was a better program considering how much trouble I have with RE. The thing that sucks the most about RE, is when I am trying to get the information for a song and the program crashes it won't save the information for about five of the previous songs.

Rodri Santos
ear is more reliable than this programmes, Cm (5A) mix really well with Am(8A) , the mixing in key that is becoming so popular is just the best combination of keys but there are a lot more that are equally good.

I've my tracks labeled with keys but what i do is the track i want listen both tracks on headphones and if it sounds alright cue in if not... pick a similar track and you'll mix that later.

if you are just learning how to mix, which you are...it might be time to bust out the old casio and key your tracks by ear.
