Unless your stay in NYC can become a tune by the Horrorist, no, you didn't do the right decision. |

one thing is certain, NYC does not have the same drinking culture you're accustomed to...gonna need a bigger bar. |

I've never understood why people go to these kinds of things.
as a beer/alcohol enthusiast, you'd think that I'd be all about this, but the thought of other people being pissed drunk, fighting, puking, or just spilling beer, it just turns me off.
i'd rather drink my domestic beer at home and watch the leafs lose. |

I was there in 2008. If you're planning to go, you must plan ahead and buy the tickets for the tents in the beginning of the year. It's where the action is and they sell out! Also bring lots of cash because ATM lines are long.
Apart from drinking crazy amounts of beer and pretending you know how to sing various drinking songs from acround the globe, there is a huge carnival going on outside the tents along with looping rollercoasters, standard carnival games, ghost houses, huge ferris wheel, various rides, concession stands, and gift stores.
They stop around 10 or 11pm. Next you want to head to the clubs around Munich, they are lots of fun too. |

I didn't see anyone fighting or puking when I was there. Have you been there or are you just talking out of your ass? |
