lol. Why? I'm trying to actually find a neutral source that summarizes each candidates' platform on the major issues. That's how I'll make my decision on how to vote...not by some left wing article in a third tier local news publication.
After you read his platform, you should go back and read the articles that outline why he will not be able to follow through on these promises. In this day and age, do people still believe politicians who promise us the world in order to get elected? (Not referring to you btw)

I'm not trying to draw parallels between Obama and Ford but look at the US. Obama was voted in by people desperate for change but really have things changed all that much? If they have, have things gotten better? Ford will most likely get elected for the very same reason... people want change. But he will barely pass any of these promises he's making because nobody wants to work with the guy. Do you really think he can get rid of street cars just like that? Everything will just be an uphill battle for him. Sure a few services might be cut that the less fortunate rely on but the average Torontonian isn't going to see much change. After four years someone more progressive will be voted back in because the city would have been stagnating or in decline under Ford.

I had the same problem. All I could do was read each one of their websites and draw my own conclusions.

Hehe.
I just realized that when Rob Ford gets elected Toronto housing prices will drop. People will want to move out of here. Score! Maybe I will be able to afford lodging.

I have to agree with this... if Ford wins it's due to his talking of fiscal restraint and NOT about whether or not his ideas are feasible/beneficial for the city in the long-haul. That said, and despite all this, imo, Ford still seems to be a better choice than the other candidates and that is a very SAD thing.

Although, I really don't think he's the better choice..with all things being equal, his inability to get along and work with counsel is going to make things very miserable at City Hall..

For those who are interested, there's a debate tonight put on by the Toronto Environmental Alliance (TEA). It's starts at 7pm and will be streamed on NOW magazine. Gord Miller, the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario, is moderating.

This is the type of behaviour you can expect from him on a daily basis when he becomes the mayor.
