OLD SCHOOL BOXING DAY BLOWOUT!
Join us again this boxing day for our 6th annual night of old school mayhem! For this one we've once again assembled a stacked line up of Toronto legends and originals who will be dropping nothing but bombs from 1998 and earler from start to finish. As in proper tradition, we will once again be opening the doors at 9pm for a special $2 happy hour to get the night started right!
Staring:
★★ DOGWHISTLE SOUNDSYSTEM
AKA CHRIS SHEPPARD
Yes, THAT Chris Sheppard! Long before he became famous for his Pirate Radio Sessions, chart topping tracks with BKS and Love Inc, or the over 3 million albums he's sold across the globe, "The Shep" was at the forefront of the Toronto rave movement. Dogwhistle absolutely destroyed the last 2 years at Footwork, so we just had to have him back!
★★ MANZONE & STRONG
Currently mainroom weekly residents at The Guvernment and This Is London, Toronto heavy weights Joe Manzone & Fab Strong have been going strong for over 15 years now! They hit it big in the 90's as Thursday night resident DJs at Club 108, boadcast live on Energy 108. This boxing day expect a set full of classics from what was quite possibly the most popular live to air in Toronto during the 90's.
★★ PETER 'THE GREEK' IVALS
Still DJ'ing after 20 years, Peter was a mainstay of the Toronto rave scene in the 90's, and could be found working over dance floors at most major events in the city. He went on to hold residencies at such legendary clubs as Limelight, Club Energy and Meow. In fact peter gained such a good reputation for rocking dance floors, that was even chosen to be the very guest DJ on Electric Circus! Get set for some serious classics!
★★ JOHN E
At height of the rave scene in Toronto, John made a name for himself with residencies for Pleasure Force and Better Days, and he went on to hold residencies at System, Turbo and the infamous Limelight Pure Wednesdays. John's promising us a set of classic big room breaks and funky house from start to finish!.
★★ TIM PATRICK
A mainstay at every Dose and Lifeforce mega rave, and almost every event in Toronto during the 90's for that matter, The Mystery man, has hammered us so hard at past Boxing Day Blowout's, that the party wouldn't be the same without him. Currently residing in Eastern Europe, he's back to rock us with a slamming techno beat down!
★★ ROBB G
Definitely the rookie among this group of veterans, Robb's energetic and funky sound made it's mark on Toronto while playing for such heavy weights as Syrous, Dose and Metro in the late 90s. He'll be opening up the night with a selection of his favs from the good old days.
