I don't get it...girls are so easy to pick up at clubs these days....how desperate does a guy have to be to risk his or his family's health to do this...

somehow I don't think a 50 year old man is going to be heading to the clubs to pick up women...and I don't think the women would be leaving with him.

Prostitutes serve a very important service and they should be given medals for what they do.

I think the government needs to smarten up and start making some money off this by regulating it.

Just think of how much safer prostitution is actually going to be now. It will probably lead to more regulation, which will mean mandatory testing, use of STI protection, etc.

Magnetonium

Prostitution has existed for thousands of years, all the way to the early cities and kingdoms. Outlawing it will simply push it underground, making people more exploited and greater risk of disease, shame, abuse, ruin. Let people do what they want, as long as it doesn't harm anyone - if it is legalized, it can become safe, transparent, and more enjoyable.

Not that I require their services, its just common cases like the Picton trial that came to attention and showed the extent of the problem. So many women could have been saved if it wasn't for the police services' prejudice against hookers that allowed Picton to slip away on at least one occasion and murder more vulnerable women (who should've been given more help and protection).
