Just wondering what happened to it last night? Did it get shut down, or were people just turned away?
eyebegod
this is from my friends facebook status update:

Crazy night! They shut down the first club, closed the road, tear gassed the dancefloor and had riot police n fights outside! And that was at the beginning of the night!

i don't think this is good for for the nyc club scene...esp with the new clubs trying to open up

eyebegod

So last night, Webster Hall hosted DayGlow, billed as "the largest paint party in the world."

Apparently it was quite large... so large, that we hear the NYPD swarmed the club.... giving everyone the boot... and shutting down 11th Street between Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue. Per DJ David Berrie, who played at the event, on Twitter: "Wowwww webster hall shut down by cops that's is by farr the most packed I've ever seen webster."

Here's a good 6 minute video of what it was like inside...

Looks like WH ed up and let too many people in.

Someone posted this on my Facebook newsfeed earlier today.....

My theory:

Overcrowded building (WH fault), buncha undercover cops/fire inspectors inside deeming this event not safe....call in the popo.

I can see on both side of the coin on this.

You don't want people to get hurt from overcrowding and worse if something happened (Fire). Rather cancel the event than have people get hurt...

If you are attending, well of course you're gonna be pissed at the cops, but what can you do...

WH Fails yet again.
LAdazeNYnights
does webster hall have a history with this sort of thing?
