I just tuned my WRX to 16psi (stock was 13.5psi) advanced some timing early-mid range to spool the turbo extra ing quick and then I also installed a lauch control patch for 5500rpm (builds 5psi of boost at a standstill)....holy it launches like crazy!!!
for those who don't know what launch control is, it pre-ignites fuel to spool the turbo when there's no load on the car (ie. not moving) so that when you drop the clutch you're already in boost and MOVIN off the line...here's a vid to demonstrate:
soon my borla headers are gonna go on and im gonna turn it up to 19psi ... clutch is crying for mercy right now LOL

I don't know about any event this weekend at Shannonville... I go to the events run by Kevin at Touge.ca...
Come out with us to Cayuga on the 23rd! We've got a convoy going down. There's loads of WRXs that come out to the Touge.ca events, one guy had a flat black GC8 that was just insane, he blew an axle a few rounds in though. But holy was that thing fast.
As far as helmets go, Dan is right, unless you've got a convertible they don't require that you wear one unless you've got a droptop - though we bring a few just in case.

I shattered 2nd gear on my old WRX racing a mitsubishi 3000gt vr4 in Hamilton 2 summers ago. Stripped all the teeth off the gear! Sounded lime someone dropped a bag full of marbles in the transmission case....upgraded to an STi 6spd out of an 05 and then I could beat the piss out of it with no worries haha.
As long as I don't slam the gears too hard, it should be fine at 19psi. Clutch is starting to slip first, actually.
And don't worry, I'm fine tuning it properly. Just scared of advancing timing too much on 91 octane.

Man, I used to LOVE going to the track several years ago. Hit Cayuga, Shannonville, and Mosport regularly for sure. I even had my own track bike:

And for those of you who know there bikes, yes that is a Honda painted Kawasaki green. My street bike (that was just a track bike) was a Kawi and so I had the green leathers already, so I just painted it green.
