there will be no legal action on this because the expense will outweigh the benefits....dinka will be paid and this guy will get shamed meaning that the chances of him doing anything in the future will pretty much cease to exist.

It is pathetic on all sides, the label certainly dropped the ball and will pay for it with bad publicity (although it can be argued that there is no such thing)....the loser that stole the track (no question about this, he is a loser....those with talent do not do this kind of thing.) will effectively be black listed forever and has about as much chance of making a nickel in this industry as the one who will not be mentioned .

im curious, lets say hes guilty, will clubs in toronto do anything about it, or still let him play? how will that reflect onto the club if they do? will guvernment nightclub still have him play a night? looking at his facebook he has regular gigs around the city.

djing and production is not the same thing.

the only people who can answer that are the ones doing the bookings. You know i despise trance and am far from an expert in it...but even though ferry is a horrible horrible dj...he has a big name and is a respected one. There will be egg on his face from this, so you can count on some communication to other labels of note warning of this guy.

Most releases are not huge money makers, and are used as a platform to get gigs regardless of the genre it happens to be from. When you get your track licensed for a comp by someone like ferry though, this is when you can make some real money on a track depending on the scale payment negotiated. Licensing is where the bucks are at...wether it be advertising or anything else of the sort. Let's face it here, people that pay for music are still in the minority.

after something like this, there is no way that any reputable label of note that knows about this will even listen to a demo from this guy.

i understand this. i believe the only reason he GOT that gig at the huge club guvernment was because of that compilation he was featured on, which i think was his and ferry's release party or something, i could be wrong here... if im correct, i dont see how guvernment could let him play again for lying about the whole thing.

if people come to see him, i don't think the club will give a .

the bottom line is asses on the dancefloor, covers paid, and drinks bought.

what's even funnier is renaming an mp3, sending it to a label and expecting it to fly.

His Mgr/Bookings don't want anything to do with him. I think those gigs are done with.
