After three absolutely rocking releases, Jamie Jones & Lee Foss’s stupendous new label Hot Creations, unleashes another absolute corker of an EP!Burnski (20:20, Poker Flat, Morris /Audio) & Robert James (Hot Creations) deliver an irresistible slice of heavenly house pie. The title track ‘Malibu’ is something very special indeed, an effervescent, super-groovy, disco-tinged, house hybrid, with Detroit inspired chords and a hooky-as-hell vocal too boot! The flip side features another choice cut from the same stable, ‘Perception’. Hot as hell, and again so, so catchy you’ll dance yer socks off! Finally Jamie Jones delivers a fantabulous remix of ‘Malibu’, adding a sweet guitar lick, a new vocal, and a monster of a breakdown and bassline! Again another sure fire winner from the Hot Creation crew.

I'm thinking Perception is the winner here, Malibu doesn't do much for me.

judging from the juno samples:

Malibu .. boring drum pattern and didn't really expect much more from the track, but that dark synth melody that gets incorporated gradually later in the sample seems to tie all the elements together properly. This one deserves a second listen for sure, in full, before I can make an adequate judgment.
-- edit: after hearing it on phonica, i can honestly say i like it. at least at the moment. definitely my favorite from this release.

Perception .. i'm not sure what I think. Cool loopy dark techno not unlike the styles popularized by Extrawelt or Mathew Jonson. I like it, but also bored by it. Need an extended listen to see if it goes anywhere, or actually tells a story, rather than being a simple additive techno loop.

Jamie Jones remix.. usually like some this guys stuff, but the vocal sample kills it for me. no thanks.
