Played the demo last night on PC. Seems like it's gonna be pretty good. I love me some good action RPG's. Looks like there is going to be tons of loot/weapons/armor combos too. There's definitely some graphical and audio bugs (waterfalls didn't make any sound at night) but I figure after a few patches it will be good to go. PKC definitely check this one out since we both really liked Ego Draconis :toocool:

Oh yeah, im all over the gothics. Loved #2 and also Risen. #3 was a buggy mess so didn’t play that for long. I’ve gotta finish amnesia before I buy another game, but the English version of divinity 2 & gothic 4 are definitely on my list.

How’s the performance? That’s always been a bit dodgy in the gothic titles…

Performance wise, I would say it's a bit better than previous versions. The open environment parts definitely had some issues with the vegetation and shadows, but it looks pretty damn good. You get to run one dungeon and that part was nice and smooth.

If anyone tries out the demo...there's an issue with the game not starting and it's due to having your sound at 96KHz. It ran with 24 bit on but had to turn it down to 48KHz for it to launch.

Got it today, already 3 hrs into it. Running really good, and is fun as hell. They fixed the big stuff the demo suffered from, but really it was minor. Awesome game.

yeah, im being scared off by luke-warm reviews and a reasonably fierce backlash on the forums. Sounds like a lot of the stuff that made gothic awesome have been removed (what, no murder anymore??) :( might still pick it up at some stage, but definitely be getting the divinity expansion first.

I also hear its way too easy??

hmm...I just killed a bunch of guards, but so far it is kinda easy. I'm playing on normal but it has a hard and gothic difficulty. People are crying about securom being used which is annoying but people have to cry about something I guess.

OK finished this. Definitely quite easy, and somewhat short. Don't expect a real Gothic game here cause it's nothing like that. It's very dumbed down, but it looks amazing and is fun. Gonna give Two Worlds a go and of course Fallout New Vegas, then Fable. Love this time of year. So many great games to look forward to.

two worlds' first review was over 90 in germany, but i hear that the release date has been pushed back to january? :(

after seeing the review on rpgwatch.com I decided to stay away from this as apparently as kinetic has told us, its dumbed down for casual RPGers.

Cant wait for Fallout:NV this tuesday...picked it up on steam for the PC this time. Fable 3has not really peeked my interest as I didnt like Fable 2. Two Worlds looks interesting, but im gonna wait for english reviewers and NA reviewers say. Cant trust the german...cant build a car, cant win a war.

yea I would only recommend this one for casual RPG'ers as it's nothing for the Gothic fans or anyone who wants a deep RPG experience. With that said I still had fun and played it all the way through. I agree on not trusting the Germans either, lol.

I got Two Worlds and Gothic 3 as I never got around to these previously, and I dunno about 2 Worlds...it seems archaic like playing a game from the late 90's as far as gameplay is concerned. Definitely looking forward to the sequel so I guess I'll hang tight for that. Gothic 3 however is really fun and addictive. This is what a good deep RPG should be. It's definitely not without it's faults and bugs, even with the latest community patch and mod packs but the huge world and comical parts really make it shine. So many quests, caves, towns, animals to kill...good stuff. I'll be playing it non-stop till New Vegas gets dropped in 2 days...and I hope they deliver. I'm getting tired of new releases lately that just lack creativity, story, and depth. These stupid corporate giants (aka EA) are really ruining the industry with unreasnable deadlines and removal of key people whom actually have the talent to make games the end users really want.

If I don't get Divinity 2 for my birthday I'm just going to ing buy it. I've waited far too long.

The game looks very nice - I just hope the gameplay stands up to the visuals. It will be interesting to see what another dev can bring to the table in terms of story and game mechanics.
