If you could have your dream Home Studio what would it be in your dream Studio / what would you have in your Dream Studio?
I want to see what y'all guys say, then I would give my 2c and tell y'all my dream Studio!

Right now id settle for a decent pair of monitors

If you'd asked me a few years back I would have wanted everything but I get sidetracked easily so it would probably be better to keep it relatively modest in terms of instruments.

I'm happy with my current PC, monitors, DAWs (Cubase 5 and Live 8) and the small collection of VSTs.

I'd probably add in an Andromeda A6, Nord Lead 2x and a Virus C (not a TI), a treated room and some kick ass furniture (stands, desk).
A big mixing console that worked natively with Cubase would be fantastic too.

Maybe some other hardware like a solid reverb, EQ and the like but nothing overboard. It would be too easy to get a hundred different things and become a jack of all trades but a master of none.

Having said that though, I'm sure that mixing console could be found for upwards of 50K :p

- A PC designed for the task (almost silent etc.)

- Superb monitors, maybe a couple of pairs. Genelecs, just to support
hometown.

- ONE analog synth, since I have never had the chance to even touch one.

- Furniture, wallpaper, lighting etc. would have to be in a fashion that I can literally sit 10-12 hours on my ass concentrating (Cosy, I guess).

- THREE screens just for the fun of it. I already have two but am having trouble fitting everything I need. I have to alt+tab sadly often.

- A big midi keyboard (88 keys?) with some additional controller knobs hookable to the DAW to maybe record automation, tweak soft synths etc.

- Fridge, TV, bed, sofa.

Without entering in brands and models i think:

- Around 15 m2 wooden studio, quite minimalistic and with a 21º temperature :P

- A really good computer, this is the most important part for a producer nowadays, water cooler no fan. And with a huge processor.

- A midi keyboard, my current should be fine but heh a new one :P

- Apple Logic

- The only hardware: On this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D26U...feature=related

Learning how to set up it and using it should be most challenging than producing but i see that it's a really good hardware.

- Seperated from my house
- soundproof
- near perfect acoustic treatment.
- far and near-field setup combined
- Lost of rack space filled with synths and effects which seamlessly integrate in the sequencer.
- Good looks (bright room, preferably with a panorama view into nature)
- Seperate recording space
- a nice set of Euphonix midi control panels made compatible to work with ing regular PC.
- Solid PC, of course silent.

I'd be happy to have decent amount of space with decent soundproofing and monitoring along with a dedicated computer just for producing. Possibly a vocal recording booth, but that's optional. And a 303.

I've got everything else I really need.

4 of these

and a pair of these

2-808s
2-909s
4-303s with devilfish mod

a sledge hammer to trash it all after making one track and pressing it as a 100 limited edition single sided 7" 45 rpm whitelabels

I would be more concerned about aesthetic things.

With special acoustic windows if there is such a thing. A bosendorfer , vintage gretch drum set, and an array of guitars in the recording room that also overlooks the ocean. A wine cooler to store champagne so a drink is never out of reach. There would also be a super secret basement as I like like that. In the basement, I would have an array of illegal weaponry from automatic assault rifles to lazer guided handheld ground and air missiles. The upper floor would have a party room with complete dj and PA setup for great parties.

My engineer and 1 tech would also have a bedroom in the studio so that he/she is never too far away. 1 room for the maid/chef and the master bedroom for me and the wife.

Would also like a minimum of 3 guest rooms for passing intellectuals or artists that need a nice place to stay for free chez Richie.

an ikea desk

Coyke
- 2nd screen / one bigger screen
- better MIDI controller as I do have now
- overall PC update, kinda reaching the limits of my system atm
- 2nd monitoring system and new headphones
- dedicated room
- nice layout, meaning a dedicated desk, decent light, nice ambience
Kenny Rogers
magic track pad lol.
