| I was kinda pissed that Clovis left... he made a big deal publicly challenging me to a debate on the Ground Zero mosque topic in a point by point manner, then wanted to post the debate for all to see. So he asked me to start with my positions. I wrote a damn essay. Then he sends me a PM saying, "I can't to this. I'm not posting here anymore. Later." :mad: |

| I haven't been posting much lately but I certainly haven't quit TA. I'm going back to school next year to get a degree in Philosophy so my priorities kinda shifted. Been spending almost all of my free time reading books. :p |

What type of job are you expecting to get with your philosophy degree? You planing on being a theologian? |

LOL, actually I want to pursue a PhD in Neuroscience once I'm done and do research on things like morality and how the brain constructs the mind. My first major was in Engineering and only now realized this is what I should have done from the beginning because quite frankly I don't want to do anything in engineering for a living anymore and science has always been a passion of mine. You can almost say that I had an epiphany after a period of existential crisis. :p
The reason I'm getting a degree in Philosophy first is because I believe that Science and Philosophy go hand in hand and therefore a scientist with no proper philosophical education will fail at making prescriptions or at the very least, interpretations that derivate from his work. Even moreso when you consider the field I want to get into. You just cannot get into morality and the mind and ignore several centuries of moral philosophy and philosophy of mind.
Even though 'jobless bum' is always a possibility, I've never been so motivated to pursue anything in my life before. :) |
