Unforgivable.

It's upsetting to hear that you guys think that so much of the talent we bring in is washed out. All of the people working in this industry are here because we truly love it, and we try to do everything we can to increase exposure and find music that everybody will enjoy. The venues and promoters that put on these shows often pay money from their own pockets, sometimes at a loss, to increase awareness. We do listen, and strive to bring in the best, the biggest and the up and coming. But the only way we will all win is by receiving local support from loyal fans- there's no way we could continue to do this without those of you who come out to all of the shows at Stereo Live, Rich's, Warehouse Live, House of Blues, and many other venues. There are real people who work behind the scenes, and the best part is that we DO see a lot of the same faces, and recognize names we see all the time on will call. And to those of you we say Thank You!!

What they are trying to say is that same talent like Benny is being brought over and over and it gets boring. Personally, Benny has past his prime ..yet again most of the people that go to the events are not educated on the music. You guys did a good job in bringing some shows this past year both of the Sanders (well one show was in Dallas) Hernan, James Zabiela those guys were good to see.. If you guys want to bring big names bring talent like Swedish house mafia, Magda, Dubfire to name a few..people will go!

Just bring Sasha & Digweed to Houston for a 5 hour tag team set and everyone will be happy.

Bringing Cattaneo again wouldn't hurt either.:toothless

in other words, "guess we can't please everyone, but there are a lot of people who like what we do!"

Whoever it is who actually does QC for you guys is doing a piss-poor job, especially if you're throwing parties like the ones you do at a loss. Then again, every city has its batch of places like the ones you mentioned, which serve only to rehash the same names on a semi-regular basis in order to cater to the generic nightclub crowd. Just don't expect any credit for it.

I remember when sean was running the scene i noticed how he would bring in the usual cash cows and then he would have a rare act come in to town. he would have a patter like that which kept things interesting. I dont want to offend anyone but it seems that 77002 is going for the sure shot most of the time or what donnie has to offer, which isnt bad but the 'snobs' are going to bash it for what it is. i personally just fell out of the scene all together because of the usual djs coming through. at least houston has a multi genre scene. gotta be grateful for something.

Yes, I also don't think that every DJ brought in by Nightculture is boring (James Zabiela for instance). And I have not seen Sasha & Digweed in a while which is a good thing as they have indeed stagnated and become overall boring (Unless Sahsa is back on his CDJs lol)

Also its great to see some underground guys in the Scene such as Noel Sanger (Bring him back!) open for bigger acts like Cosmic Gate.

And of course you want to get your investment back when you book someone, I also understand that. We don't want promoters to go broke and have no more music, thats for sure.

When I initially posted this thread I was just a bit frustrated in what seemed to me as a general stagnation in the scene all over (Festivals, clubs, everywhere), not just in Houston.

Not trying to be negative, it would be awesome to see more fresh faces though in addition to guaranteed crowd drawers. Would just be nice to hear some fresh new sounds/underground talent, even as openers for the bigger acts. I have had some great times at some of Nightcultures shows, all I am saying would be nice to see a few fresh faces now and then.
