This totally sounds like something I would do.
Alas, I'm only a fantastic liar when I truly believe that I have done nothing wrong.

This is not the case here

Did you ing drop it or something? What did you actually do wrong here?
Ania_xox
I picked it up off a surface. Put it down on another nearby surface. Moved the original surface out of the room. And then put it on a more appropriate surface.

I did this because
a) a heating vent was partially blocked
b) the TV needed to be higher
c) I wanted to get rid of the original surface

Sounds like a TV if that's all you did.

It's only 4 or 5 years old I think.
I just feel like there's just so much that could have gone wrong though. The box, a cable, the actual TV, something on the screen.

Insist on the hair-brained assertion that blocking a heating vent with the television caused slight damage to it over time by way of the screen overheating because he plays too much Xbox on it, so you took the initiative of fixing the situation by re-arranging things. He can thank you by taking you out to dinner.
Moral Hazard
So all you did was move it? If that's the case then chances are it's due to a cable being loose/out or the problem is coincidental in timeing but otherwise unrelated (it's a 5 year old POS Insignia afterall).

The TV was nowhere near the vent.
It's my turn to make dinner.
I'm supposed to be working on a translation right now.

PS. It's not the Samsung in his TV room (he exchanged that one for some other LED, btw). This is a little 35-inch Insignia in his bedroom. Also... how the do you remember what kind of TV we originally bought? lol :wtf:

Ok so I'm making sure everything is plugged in and focusing on component cables. Right after I figure out what they are.

A: flat-panels don't get mis-aligned.

B: I remember because I hate Samsungs, but you let him buy one anyway. Iirc, for $2800.

...I had a good breakfast today.

4-5 years on an insignia isn't bad. You can probably replace it for 300 bucks now.

btw, hook something else up to it first. Good chance it's the cable box.

tubularbills
the area where the green scruffy things are coming around, hold up a magnet to them. that always fixes the problem.

Don't with me Will
