Oh totally.
Later this week, I'm going to learn other basic operations like turning it on and off.
Just thought I'd start on the basic operation of fixing random green static first |

the area where the green scruffy things are coming around, hold up a magnet to them. that always fixes the problem. |
That used to work on old tube TV's. Doubt it will on the new flat TVs. |

The alignment in the panel is off & it's only picking up certain color frequencies. You can fix it yourself by either an alignment plainer with an attached meter. Or an easier fix would be to flip the tv upside down while turned on for a few days & let it balance itself out. |
What? :stongue: :stongue: |

A: flat-panels don't get mis-aligned.
B: I remember because I hate Samsungs, but you let him buy one anyway. Iirc, for $2800.
...I had a good breakfast today.
4-5 years on an insignia isn't bad. You can probably replace it for 300 bucks now. |
Whats a good brand other than Samsung... I've had a bunch of Samsung displays but after in the course of a week having one of my Samsung monitors and TV crap out (the TV was craping out for a while the LCD controller board is ed up I think and its not a drop in PCB, you have to replace the whole display unit) I kinda wanna try something else... |

Plasma:
1. Pioneer
2. Panasonic
LCD:
1. Nuvision
2. Sony
Those + Sunbrite are the only sets I'd ever touch.
I still use a Samsung monitor for my PC, but will go to LG once I replace it. Not an expert on PC monitors, though. |

It's either trolling or he wants her to cut the TV in half.
or there's some alignment tool for old front-projection console tvs that I don't know about. |
