i completely agree, but the OT didn't have the likes of jackson

Lost the crown of worst character of the prequels only when they tacked Jar Jar onto the project.

i blame the rampant CGI backgrounds, where actors just didn't "feel" the scene they were in.

I actually thought the CGI worked well in the third one. The duel between Obi Wan and Anakin in the lava was the definition of epic.

these movies were supposedly for kids, and they started it off with trade disputes? really?

I don't see why the movies should be considered intended for kids at all. They got Jar Jar and spaceships. Pew pew pew. They would have been stupid to not give some brain food to the adults that grew up on these films in the first place. That's a big part of what I liked about the prequels... all the politics and foundations of why everything we saw later in the original three came to be. If anything gives them rewatchability, it's the politics.

yeah, i think all the action sequences were great, but the rest (of which there was quite a lot in the PT) just didn't work as nicely imo.

i think that politics in scifi can be really great, but i didnt find the PT's depiction particularly exciting is all. though, at least it gave mcdiarmid a chance to shine, who was easily the best performer in the 3 films imo.

To be fair, he really can't it up much more after the prequels, especially the first two.

Also, Redlettermedia. If you don't know what I'm talking about, use google.

His third review should be coming up soon. Saw the preview for it the other week.

George Lucas should be forced to watch those reviews on repeat for at least a week. Maybe that would bring him to his ing senses.

And he should stop rehashing Star Wars and put his money (a lot) and creativity (probably not so much) into a completely new project.

Howard the Duck 2!

Troll 3, produced by George Lucas, directed by Osterzone.

Moongoose
If they decided to make a sequel trilogy they should have made it yearas and years ago and besed it on the Thrawn trilogy. That would have been awesome, but by now the actors are waay too old to pull that off.
