but really Katy, to say "the vibe was not there" is total BS, the place was going off for like 12 hours straight...

people were dancing of course! So was I! but I'm not the only one that felt this way either....

LE SKETCH!

Lol, I'm intrigued at what these stories could entail. I had a few run ins but nothing too drastic. Strangely enough you'd think that Halloween would be the sketchiest of zone days but I actually find it to be quite normal

Normal?!?! lol what is your definition of normal?

and who knows, it's all about the music, and if that was there, I wouldn't have even seen the sketch.

The party was lacking serious tunage!!

The sketch is part of the fun!

haha I totally agree...

I just find it very intriguing the way that place just mutates. I never felt truly uncomfortable, had the nervousness walking in again after some time, but the people... it was just plain silly in there. This one guy was awesome. Folding up his shirts and jacket on a chair as if just finishing a load of laundry. Amazing.

I didn't see anyone "going too far" and what I saw in the patio was typical sunday behaviour there. Perhaps they all decided to come to you knowing it was your big return, lol.

I know I did! I lasted 3 hours in there with my box, lol. Felt like I was a bumper car :p I think it's safe to say everyone hated being around me when I had it on

this was by far top 5 zone days i've ever experienced.....everything was perfect or near perfect!!

walked in just before 9am and saw the coat check area SWAMPED!! completly out of hangers and people furiously figuring out what to do lol

ended up leaving right away to drop our coats off in my trunk...

came back in and immediately could feel the sweaty steam finding its way into the hallway and coat check area looking for any molecule of fresh air left that it hasn't consumed already haha...like an evil fog!!

got in around 9am to catch the tail end of carlo lio who dropped a few heavy tracks to lead into the junkies. as per usual, junkies know how to take control of zone and get the party really going...to my surprise vince stepped up his game and stole the show from val this time :)

joee cons was superb, didn't catch too much of him though as i was cooling off upstairs as soon as silver dollar opened with a nice cold pitcher of beer and peter zurub getting things going right off the bat! im sooooooo glad that silver dollar can be ur little escape from downstairs when need be, and that the party is still going off the walls up there too!!

i was super duper excited to catch richie santana as i love his productions and style but was kinda nervous at how he'd play zone because his set at FW recently when peter bailey didn't show up was IMO quite bad............BOY OH BOY did he ever prove me wrong! he ing UNLOADED havoc on us! i kept looking at my friends and jumping up and down for the next 2 hours, his set was right up there with carlos fauvrelle/d-unity/entrena from a couple years ago.....none stop carnage from those speakers ........and when you thought he was letting up, he didnt, banger after banger, heavy rolling drummy tribal-tech sprinkled with a techno track here and there! his build ups were immense and his drops slammed us down even harder, i haven't danced that much in a loooooong time

he left us all mangled and battered and then ovi m was just waiting his turn to keep the party going and boy did he ever! after his first 3-4 tracks i just couldn't deal and needed another break and reflect lol honestly the past 4-5hrs was musical bliss à la zone

then came darius, aka special dj and brought it down 3 notches...didn't like him at all, and how come the 'special' guest dj gets 1hr?! lol

anyways back on track to barato!!!!!! 2nd best set of the day for me, i never really appreciated him as much as i should have until he left and then came back...he's a ing GENIOUS behind the decks.....he played a lot of creepy twisted tracks that was bending my mindframe i felt like i was at a carnival of carnage or something haha...at one point i yelled out 'HAPPY ING HALLOWEEN TORONTO' as at that point in time i dont think anyone else/any other club in the world was as bonkers as cz was going off..

getting tired now so im gonna cut the rest short - ricky syfer was laying the smack down his last hr, really enjoy his sets and a great addition to zone

was time to chill down for jay force's set and get back to reality, but was really enjoying his tunage

for the last hr or two we mostly sat in the back and enjoyed watching zone from a different angle...it was perfect...underground at its finest, everyone dancing up in the back, so many things glowing neon it was phenomenal!

i'll add a bit more later...
