Vibe was good, very different crowd then Saturdays, younger & seemed to be a lot of out of towners in for the gig. Gotta love the commitment to make it in :) Heard some people were in line for hours! Btw - Good to See ya Patius! Too bad about the back speakers for Hawtin's time slot. Fun way to start the day, even though i missed the Main Attraction. Until the next one!

It was pretty weird... got there around 230 and ppl were in line still waiting to see if there were tickets

Pretty great night!! Was too tired and was falling asleep so left shortly after Layo and Bushwacka sadly. I concur, Gaiser took the throne last night. His closing track, Stephan Bodzin & Marc Romboy - Triton was track of the night! Sick :p Hawtin was good, but too short and not his best. Hearing The Tunnel live again was nothing short of epicness. Round 2 tonight!

Wow what a night.
Got in at 3 witg maher spinning some smooth house. Some of his last tracks started using the system and got my first goosebumps of the night.

330 rolls around and gaiser hits the decks. Again, he was awesome. I think I preferred his set in toronto the night before.
Was the back speaker blow or somethin? It was crackling for a good part of gaiser and hwatin.

The sound overall was underwelming most of the night :( was a bit disappointed.

Richie was awesome last night. Richie was richie unlike in toronto. He had me dancin crazy. Sound started getting better during his set

And for the cherry to top the night off LAYO & BUSHWACKA!!!!!! I had no plans of staying for them....but after a few tracks I knew they would blow the roof off and definetely did. They were the only djs last night who really used the system. Massive build and explosive momements like a musical rollercoaster.
Definitel set of the night.

I love the lowered booth. Chicks in the crowd were smoking hot! Mtl ftw

Now the question is to vibe or not to vibe :)

Jesus H. Christ, what a night.

Got in to Stereo just as Gaiser was coming on, and wow was Stereo rammed to the . It was steamy as hell on the dance floor, and I noticed immediately that this wasn't our typical Stereo crowd. For one, 99% straight? It was weird hahaha.. and I coulda sworn we were at Light Ultra club, honestly.. is Richie that big that he attracts the regular hours douchebag crowd? People were straight up rude, disrespectful, and overdressed. If I wasn't so drunk I would have cared a whole lot more about this, but.. I couldn't believe how many joints were smoked, how many water bottles were tossed on the floor, and how many pieces of gum I stepped on. Have some ing respect for the temple, s.

Gaiser was fun, definitely something new but I had a hard time concentrating and getting locked in due to being bumped around like a rag doll on the dance floor. His stuff was cool, really good atmosphere and energy during his set building up very nicely for Richie.

Richie came on and just punished that dance floor, wow. Relentless techno, technically flawless, great flow. It was the best techno set I've ever seen at Stereo, mind you I'm a noob but I was definitely not dissapointed as his set flew by in what seemed like 15 minutes. Was also happy that midway through, quite a few people left allowing me to really get my dance on. Dance floor became very comfortable again at this point, and the awesome normal Stereo crowd was left.. not gonna lie, even though minimal's not my thing, I kinda wanted to hear some Plastikman really badly, oh well. Last few tracks, Richie played some SOLID tech house so Layo & Bushwacka could take over.

I was looking forward to catching their set, and . What a set it was, started off with some proper deep tech house, and the club just went off from there. These guys know how to make a club rock, just massive builds and epic drops, deep jazzy, then techy and heavy. I cannot even put to words how great I thought they were. Track of the night for me was H.O.S.H. - Cash the Chord (Audiojack Remix), in LOVE that song. They played a lot harder then sets I've heard from them, and I thought they really took advantage of the soundsystem as the sound was just spot on. I couldn't leave the dance floor because they wouldn't let me, and I think I prefered their set to Richie's but it's close. I left at 10am though, one of my buddies was sitting in the car and he really wanted to go, and the dance floor was really empty by this point.

A lot of out of towners last night, I talked to people from Toronto, Detroit, the UK, and Ottawa. The girl from Detroit knew her , we talked straight techno for a few minutes haha it was really cool. All in all, last night was the best party at Stereo I've attended thus far, and after a rocky start the vibe and the crowd around 8am was just unrivalled.

Def a huge problem the last few times I was out, people are plain rude and agressive. Those little girls with bug glasses will you up man.

There's one tiny girl that kept walking back and forth from the centre of the dance floor to the stairs to go to the dj booth... it was annoying.

I second everything corjay9 said since we were together the whole time lol. The second hour of Richie was pretty awesome but Layo&Bushwacka where my favourites for sure. Now i just need to get to my bed. Nothing worse then dancing for almost 7 hours and not having enough time to sleep and having to head to work.

It's not Richie, it's Stereo. Same thing last Friday. It's the crowd they are attracting right now. Gum on the floor, not just putting bottles on the floor but throwing them behind the speakers, dancing on the speakers... I swear to god I witnessed one girl attempt to start something with some other girls. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't all of this unusual for this place?

How about a Berghain door policy at Stereo? What ever that is. Or just what they are doing in Europe. At ADE I had to answer a few questions at Studio 80 to get in. Make them speak French (I'll brush up on mine), no large groups, no drunks, etc. Make them answer a few simple questions (who is the dj?, who created Stereo back in 98?, what is the origin of the speakers?). But I have a feeling this is more about money than atmosphere. Sorry. Let them make their money. Or maybe a door policy flies in the face of what Stereo and Montreal is all about? Je ne sais pas?

ha. i wish. when i was there, the jersey shore lookalike whores got laughed at and were refused entry. if you're wearing high heels, you don't stand a chance.

i'm rly fkn sick of this new crowd too. pure savages with no respect...seems they haven't been raised...unfortunately, you can't have extremely selective door policies here. our market is just not big enough. beggars can't be choosers. i'm not saying stereo (or any other club for that matter) are beggars. what i mean is that with a scene that's as tranquil as ours (relative to berlin's, for example,) you can't be that choosy as to who you let in. you have to take what you get so the bills get paid. this isn't berlin.

and the door quiz is pure jokes. imagine? would be so funny to see the results.

Thats what happens when you allow Jersey Shore wannabes / idiots that go to clubs not knowing who the hell spinning :whip:

I wish Stereo would allow me to bring in a cattle prod in. Keep the Jersey freaks in check.

Wow. Toronto TA here, but I wanted to chime in:

Richie layed down a relentless, absolutely pillaging set last night. The only flaw? It failed to decimate the barbarian hoard that had invaded so much of the dancefloor. Regardless, top notch music = major win for me. Absolutely epic machine destruction. Never been happier. First time at stereo, and I must say: excellent sound system, excellent layout.

My main complaint? Put the toilet flush button within Line Of Sight, and have simpler tap on/off buttons! I must have looked like an idiot for 2 minutes trying to figure out how to flush that bastard.

I will definitely be back. I will definitely keep seeing Richie every chance I get.
