When people argue with U about TRANCE.... (pg. 2)

At my country people don't care about music. they don't care what they are listeing to. That irritates me alot I must say.

But I live in the biggest city and there 98% of the people listen to pop or rock music. There're some gruops that enjoy metal and hardcore too. But the clubbers are very few. BUT BUT BUT...the interesting fact is that clubs are ALWAYS full of people. This againm shows that they don't care about what they listen.

I don't like clubs in Turkey cos they play progressive house, hard house and sort of techno that sounds like hardcore...very few Trance clubs are left.

When I ask people why they don't like this music...they say: "old fashioned" Those are the times I mostly go mad.

But trust me there are hell alot of people haven't heard Trance before. And everytime I'd have to explain the emotions thing and ect.

After all they say they don't like that(I know why,cos they are not used to,they can't feel:))

I only say these things to them....

1)You miss a lot.....will be sorry in the future

2)This shows your personalty
3)I enjoy myself listening to TRANCE without you !!! :tongue3 :tongue3 :tongue3  :o :o :o

I KNOW you people ALWAYS ENJOY TRANCE

Bah! Here, nobody listens to trance that I know. It's all rap, hip hop, pop music. I can't stand it! You turn on the radio, you hear rap, you turn on the TV, you hear rap. School, stores, everything is rap! None of my friends are into trance either. A couple like it, but most of them say they like trance. I ask them who they listen to, they say Scooter, Darude, Allice DeeJay, Effile 65, DJ Mistik...ahhh. I let them listen to some GOOD trance, they say they don't like it or it's "gay"...the ones who don't listen to it at all hate it! RAP MUST DIE!!! :whip:

so true !!!

Ppl don't care what they listen to. They enjoy going to clubs since they like to show off. ( being in a huge club)

I don't like the clubs in Turkey, either. Most of them play what's popular. It can be a turkish song, rock or rap song...

btw. I once tried playing a few trance songs to one of my friends just to hear his opinion. And after listening 10 secs, he said: "Isn't it called computer music ???? "

I know what you mean....same goes for here in NYC, NJ and well, the whole tri-state area. However, people around here are opening up to trance more now than ever...always good to hear...the message is getting out...but majority prefers hip-hop, r&b, pop, or the worst-"DANCE"....gayness I tell you... I can't stand it either. I don't think I can complain though....NYC&DC and major areas along the east coast...yeah...we've definitely have had our share of major DJ's. :)

I used to have this argument with one of my freinds all the time. While he sort of liked it and was open to listening to it, he thought it was all the same, didn't notice the difference, and mostly didn't like it. When he did that I didnt mind, everyone has different tastes. But we used to argue for hours about how tracks are difficult to produce, and there are differences between tracks etc. But I dont like his music so its fair :) As long as people make there decesion based on solid information (i.e giving it a real try, listening to good stuff) than I dont argue at all, but if they use stereotypes I just start ranting :whip:  :(

being from the states most people dont like trance. i love it i went from rap to trance. when i play trance my friends think its techno. im like wtf??? but to most people trance needs to grow on you, you cant listen to it once and decide u need to listen to it numerous times to make a decision. :D

Most people here associate trance with candy ravers and drug addicts, and think it's for dorks. That usually works to my advantage though, because when people find out that a preppy kid like me listens/spins/produces (or at least attempts to produce =)) trance they're usually like "wow, really? why?", and as a result I can usually get a chance to explain it to them and they're open minded about it. After I play some good tunes for them they're usually at the worst impartial to it, a lot of times they like it and ask for CDs, and now and then they'll get into it big time (like my brother did after I convinced him) and I'll be happy for converting them to the cause =)

Usually when people listen to it with an open mind they enjoy it. My buddy Steve used to hate trance and make fun of it all the time. Last summer we went to the Area 1 Festival and he did some E, and when Oakenfold came on he was ing love it. The drugs definitely had something to do with it, but nonetheless it was great to see someone open their mind towards a music they didn't really enjoy beforehand and end up having one of the best times of their life dancing to it.

Yeah Drugs sometimes make a difference @ raves, but im usually to much off my to tell lol :stongue:

Just my words! the place i live, is 95% of the ppl non-trance/techno minded and after a few discussions i stopped arguing with ppl about this subject, music taste is a kinda individual thing just like ur food taste, or anything like that! and the thing about all ppl think that if u listen to trance/techno ur just a st00pid mofo on E 24/7, so when meeting ppl having that attitude, stop bothering talking to them, cause u will NEVER get their mind changed in most cases!

funny to see this thread, cause i just thought about the same! im getting this "trance sucks" like every single day.. from my female friends.. (tho some of my male friends say the same) so i kinda stopped replying back on it.. and changed subjuct.. and started talking about the weather :)

Second that.....Itīs the same for me.....Everytime ppl talk about this with me they always associate trance/techno with drugs....

But i always say that every kind of music style ppl use drugs....

Most people really do not know what great trance is. On the west coast, I've been able to experience the music culture in NOrthern and Southern CA. People have totally different outlooks on what the music means, but the same theme is prevalent. Its good music.

I'm probably not the only one who notices, but people who are into electronic music are so tolerant of other genres. Myself, I like rock, hip hop, etc. People who aren't into electronic music like those hard core hip hop guys can't stand any other form of music. Why is that?...

PS. Besides, girls who love trance are usually hot...take a look..you'll see
