When people argue with U about TRANCE.... (pg. 3)

this wasnt so bad until like the 100th time he said it. the second roomate actually likes the stuff but not enough to get the songs himself. He just asks me to burn him some cd's so he can listen to it in his car when hes high.
Out of the friends i have in college there isnt one person who is into trance. They either hate it, dont care, or just say " OH this is nice,uh, can u burn me a cd"

Come on.. were are all here talking about Rap, Hip-Hop SUX, Dance SUX...
OMG if were going to start with that negative bull then we are just as bad as those trance-hating wankers....
Why don't you, no WE just say... we prefer trance to other genre's like RAP, come on... live in the positive of our lives not the negative, you won't make your life better by saying that other genre's suck, thats just as immature as saying that trance sux, come one, lets unite together and lets not let petty differences ruin peoples different perceptions...
I remmeber one time we were @ starbucks with some friends and this very same topic came up, i just told them that trance is an aquired taste, and if you prefer other genres its ok, I'm not going to be judgementally negative on your choices, all people are different.
They were like, yeah thats cool... no hate or anger involved, there was no need for that, always remmember to be positive even if you hate the genre, hey i must agree to the fact that i don't like rap because of all the swearing but thats just my opinion...

hmm.. im sure all trance lovers are familiar wit the situation
u show someone a trance song, after hearing 3 seconds of it they go "wtf this is the same thing over and over!" this just goes to show that people who dont like trance never really try to listen to it. if u can judge a song from 3 seconds of it, u really dont appreciate music.. with trance, you have to get absorbed into it. and REALLY listen
aside from that there's also the "its not even music. music is about words." wrong again.. music is about MUSIC. are they saying classical music isnt music? music is about listening to something for the feeling it gives you.. why do they think chinese people listen to korean music when they dont understand it? it sounds good, that's why.
some people will never like trance, they're too conditioned to mainstream.. i try to show them the best of it, and some ppl get into it, but some people just dont have it in them. sux for them
to truly understand trance you have to sleep to it, drive to it, sing to it, and above all dance to it

| i think that funniest thing about people that don't like trance or electronica in general is when they say things like "its all on computer so its easy to make and not really music". the irony of course being that all genres of music now a days are created through heavy computer involvement. you wouldn't have your jay-z of britney spears without computers. some people have little understanding of the entire music industry. |

Now if you take some home and show it to someone it isn´t going to work. Trance is not just the music. For someone to like trance they got to like and know the experience.

how many discussions about this topic do we have to have?
many of you complain that you don't hear trance on the radio. But then some people want to complain about how trance should be kept underground?? Trance shouldn't be the BEST form of music out there. If it is, then that's sad. It takes more skill to actually play an instrument (violin, guitar, etc...) than to use a computer to make sounds (which is basically what trance is.. a simplified definition). |

heh but to the point... i started a post about 6 months ago now about "What do you do when somebody asks you why you prefer trance to any other style of music" and one very wise man on the forums wrote this. (sorry can't remeber who it was but iv'e saved it and i always read...very cool:

So now I will close my eyes and dream……………
