Here in Miami we have this:

Blue Sky

It's pretty average food, and pretty cheap.

So they do exist, heh. I wonder why they aren't as popular abroad as they're here. They're so convenient...

Which leads me to believe that salad bars at hospitals are independent third world countries inside first world countries. It must be tricky to overthrow the government when the head of state can easily hide in the doctors' lounge, heh.

Haven't seen any of these here in Amsterdam.

However, there are a lot of all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet & Argentinian steakhouse (AYCE ribs mostly) here. I've always wanted to get a couple friends together, get really stoned, then go to one of these with a severe case of the munchies.

I've never seen such a system on any of my travels. Certainly, we do not have such a system here.

Le Commensal in both Toronto and Montreal price their food this way.

Fat chance of me going to the one here.

But I am hooking up with a vegetarian friend in Montreal this weekend, so I may give her a shot.

So when you order do you say "I want XX ounces of lobster and XX ounces of vegetable" and they charge you for how much of each food you ordered, or do you pile food on your plate like a buffet and they weigh it and charge a flat rate?
