What would you do...

...if a label required that the size of a track not exceed 10 Mbs, while my track weighs somewhat 15 mbs. What are the mesures? Send a cut demo version? Re-record in a radio version? Render in 96kbs?
MSZ
lol what the hell, im trying to figure out in my head which label would do this and WHY. just give it to them in 96kbps like you said or whatever... actually, man either way this is not acceptable. whichever way you do it, if they're really interested in it, im sure they'll ask for either a higher quality track or a longer clip.
Andy28
what size does it come out at in 192kbs?? could also try a VBR aswell to take abit off
Kenny Rogers
it basically means either of these two:
1. label dont want you
2. you dont want the label

not a single track on my HD is less than 10mb. most of my own productions are either around 20mb(320kbps) or 100mb(wav). nothing less is acceptable.

a label i submitted a track to wanted it under 5mb, no more than 3min! crazyness but whatever. just cut the audio, you don't need long intros or outros, show them the goods but know that a label like this is after a hit, like a HIT. if you don't think it's a hit then probably not even worth the effort.
MSZ
wierd, i know some labels stress to make sure to send finished full tracks to make sure its all there and isnt just a decent short clip.(potentially unfinished) then again, why would you be sending it if it wasnt finished so i see that point, but there a lot of people out there so yea.
Kenny Rogers
its a label for sure.

this is the label i was refering to: http://www.starlightmusic.it/demo/

they only put out hits and i knew that going into it but 5mb & 3min wasn't easy!
MSZ
did you get it signed bro? looks like some commercial success here.

Speed it up to 430 BPM using Audacity. Then send instructions to the label that, in order to hear the track properly, they'll have to slow it down to whatever the original BPM is.

I've sent TONS of songs to labels, this way.

MSZ
omg eddie, do you know of a time-stretch algorithm that would do that precisely, that would be awesome.
