And that's funny because God and Jesus are obviously commies.

I was actually planning on going to this 'park' with some friends for s and giggles... but the Star Trek exhibit is at the Science Center, its expensive, and I find it much more relevant and logical than the Creationism Park :o

I happen to be a rationally thinking, educated liberal born and raised in Kentucky. Many of my friends and family are religious and conservative politically and I understand that they do comprise a majority in my state, especially at the polls. But it really is embarassing that this is the kind of face we choose to present to the nation despite how odd or inappropriate the manner or setting. I do get a kick out of the irony that the interstate exit leading to the creationism museum also leads to a state park that is one of the oldest sites of prehistoric animal bone excavation and a birthplace of modern archeology. When you get to the end of the off ramp, you have to choose which way to turn.
edit: dinosaurs and unicorns are such lightweight queries - now confirm that Cthulhu was on the ark and you've got yourself a theme park...

But if it fulfils all the necessary criteria to receive the funding, I don't see why not. For all I care, they should also subsidise the construction of a Buddhist themed-park, a Muslim recreational centre and a Hindu shopping mall in the same city if that helps boost the economy.

You really want to give them a reason to whine and claim they're being persecuted!? Didn't you learn anything from those annoying truthers that (incredibly) claim to be Galileo?
As a linguist, do you really reckon I like to know people out there believe the Tower of Babel actually existed? Do you know how frustrating it is to painstakingly study every detail about the evolution of language and have some git claim that he knows what happen because it's in the Bible, and the story he tells makes no sense whatsoever?

Oh they are going to claim that anyway. Its what they do. If there were only christians left in he world save for a single person who doesnt belive in that prick jc and hides in a came somewhere to avoid the death squads (the reason why there are only christians left in the world) they would claim that they are being persecuted by him.

Oh i think every living physicist, biologist, chemist... it, every living scientist knows how frustrating it is to painstakingly study something and then have some with a bible claim that his work is wrong because god said so...and then have other stupid people believe him and not the scientists because...well, god said so! This frustration is all to well know to anyone who has ever had to deal with religious people.
