| Has anyone else only discovered the site this week? Looks like I've not been trolling enough. What the is it and why do we need it? |

I am Julian Assange, and I am Wikileaks.
What do we need it for? Well, there's a whole thread devoted to this already :p
From Wikipedia (because I can't be arsed to look for a better description :D)... WikiLeaks is an international new media non-profit organization that publishes submissions of otherwise unavailable documents from anonymous news sources and leaks. Its website, launched in 2006, is run by The Sunshine Press. Within a year of its launch, the site claimed a database that had grown to more than 1.2 million documents. The organization has described itself as having been founded by Chinese dissidents, as well as journalists, mathematicians, and start-up company technologists from the United States, Taiwan, Europe, Australia, and South Africa. The Guardian newspaper describes Julian Assange, an Australian Internet activist, as its director... that's WL in a nutshell, though there's a lot more to the whole thing. |

| You know what I learned from all this? Is that it's better not to be the hero or to venture in some idealistic crusade. The bad guy always wins. And the bad guy always wins, because they have more money and resources than you. Moral ideals are irrelevant in today's capitalist society. |
