Another incredible party I forgot about this year was
Tobi Neumann @ Milkrun. That guy played some of the most cutting edge music I heard all year. He absolutely murdered that room. |

I also found 2010 to be pretty uninspiring musically in our scene. I didn't go out as much as I used to, and when I did, I found myself bored with the music a lot more often. It def. has something to do with the fact that I've also been going out in this scene for many years now. There is def. a lack of new sounds for me to stumble across that I haven't already heard to some degree or another before. I would like to see more Deep House, and Progressive parties in this city. I still think Toronto has an incredible scene though, esp. for noobs. I think I need to put more effort into searching out new and different parties and venues to check out, instead of always frequenting the same 2 clubs the majority of the time.

Top Parties in T.O. - Sasha @ TIL, Beats Ahoy Canada Day Boat Cruise w/Victor Calderone (minus the no music at the beg. and end drama). John '00' Fleming @ Vola.
Outside of T.O. - Electric Zoo in NYC. Every set I saw there was flawless. Outdoor parties FTW!! Seeing the Chemical Brothers for the first time was a dream come true for me. I'll never forget it.
Fav. Promoters: Fabricated, Platform, PureTrance & Ozmosis Productions.
Fav. Club: Footwork.
Fav. small venue: Stone Lounge on College.
Fav. Dj's - Sasha, Steve Bug, Claude VonStroke, JOOF, Jon O'Bir, Above and Beyond, Markus Schulz.
Best Live PA - Stephan Bodzin @ FW
Fav. Producers: Claude VonStroke, Mat Zo, Carlo Lio, Guy J, Andrew Bayer, Breakfast, Mauro Picotto, Jon O'Bir.
Fav. locals: Andrew McDonnell, Nathan Barato (who I don't get to see nearly enough), Jeff Button, and Irgo.
Fav. live recorded set: "Markus Schulz presents - Global DJ Broadcast World Tour (9 September 2010)". Live from the KH @ Labour of Love. Really pissed off that I wasn't there for that set. HEAVEN.

That really was a terrible night. You're lucky you didn't catch DT's most recent set @ Stereo, or he would probably be tied for best and worst sets this year. |
