This sums up my whole point pretty well. You cannot generalize "us" in that way. That's the same as saying all British people have bad teeth and all Canadians play hockey and wear plaid all the time.

No it's not. You actually don't get it.
"Evety single American is fat" is not the same as "Americans are fat". The latter is completely true. And generalizations are not wrong or illegitimate but rather an important tool in decision making and understanding the world.
