you Bioware, you turned my Dragon Age into a diablo clone with JRPG graphics :(

You are out of your mind dude, lol. It still plays the same as the first, and looks to be thoroughly improved upon which was much needed. They add a new way to play, which mind you, was how KOTOR was, with the pause before battle. You don't have to play that way. Jesus Christ

Sorry, video loading too slowly at work. I suspect moongoose may be right just based on what I’ve read so far, but am hoping im being too pessimistic. DA wasn’t that great in the end anyway, though I must say I loved the tactical combat.

I had a shred of hope before i watched that vid, that the game despite everything that was written about it might still be good but when i saw the vid that i posted all my worst fears were confirmed. Look at hawke fighting, he looks like freaking Yoda from AtoC the way he is jumping around the battlefield. Also, youre stuck in that stupid behind the shoulders view. Who commands a party fraom a behind the shoulders view?

Also, being an avid retro gamer i am not what one would call a graphics whore, but that just looks offensive even to my old pc that overheats if you move the mouse too fast.

Well, to be fair, hes playing the rogue class and for him to be dashing around spinning and doing acrobatics, looks pretty awesome. The new action-style is for those who want a faster pace of gameplay, but for those of us who want our pause and play the "Baulders Gate" way, it will be just the same. And is it confirmed that there will be only 1 angle to view your characters from? I just thought that they didnt change the view during the video presentation?

Plus if you played an legionnaire rogue in dragon age expansion, I rarely had to pause with good AI settings. I just ran around bossing everyone.:p

Anyhow, hopefully your wrong, this still looks good and im hoping they dont ruin the series. But I still have faith in Bioware games, DA and ME2 were tons of fun and had alot of stuff I enjoyed.

They said from the start that they were making 2 different, and really I welcome that. Last thing I want to do is play another version of 1 again. The only fact for now is you can't call it till u get to play the finished product, and I highly doubt your going to dislike it. Let's face it, 1 had its plethora of problems, but the story was good and that's what really matters with these. Different does not make it bad.

looks ok. not happy about the apparent lack of decent zoom though.

i will be awfully surprised if both types of control are fun and rewarding. here's hoping one of them is.

Just played the demo for a couple of minutes. Luckily i have a date with a pizza and a couple of lesbians in an hour so that hopefuly they will make me forget what i went trough.

Art style went from gritty semi realistic to stylised JRPG, the combat animations are straight from JRPGs as well...wait no i take that back i cant claim that just yet as ive only tried the mage...ok the mages combat animation look like a japanese person on speed thats playing Dance Dance Revolution...god damnit Bioware...

Just bought the game today. Hopefully it isn't a dumbed down rpg...

Well if you compare it to DAO then it is quite dumbed down. As a standalone title it would probably be at least a decent hack&slash RPG but as a sequel to DAO it sadly falls flat :/

I read some online revies of the game and many of them dare to say that DA2 is in every way an improvement over DAO :haha: Seriously, how is for instance the taking away the ability to equip my party members with armour an improvement over DAO?

BioWare says streamlined. I say dumbed down and im not alone in saying this.

First off the game is not , but it has been console-ized. My only 3 complaints are that you can't equip/upgrade armor on your companions, only accessories which does suck. The second being that there really seems to be no ultimate goal. Bioware always has it where you can go in any path you want to reach the end goal but there really isn't one. Third, it's not a sequel at all, though that's not really a complaint as it takes place during and through the events of DAO. That said, the game runs great. So much better than DAO, at least on the PC which is what I'm playing it on. It's in DX 11, which kicks ass. Tons of well written and creative quests which are fun to do compared to grinding type quests we get with most rpg's. I think the combat is fun and well more refined which is what the franchise needed. Did I mention DX 11 and how sweet it looks  If you don't have a DX 11 card go get one!

ive read a bunch of reviews and think ill sit this one out for a few years til I can pick it up at bargain bin prices.
