No problem with it, gays are already serving and as far as I can tell they aren't causing an issue. I doubt that all of the sudden you will have flaming men in the trenches, because thats not what this law prevented in the first place. If thats a problem, its with the individual and I doubt that they would assimilate into military life from the start.
All this does, and I think this is the most positive, is take away the burden that if gay or lesbian service members are outed they do not lose their jobs. That takes a huge burden off their shoulders and probably allows them to do their job more effectively. |

umm...news flash! gays have been serving for a very long time...many have proven themselves while having to pretend to be someone they are not. |

Like Tubular Bills, I could care less about it. The reason why I don't care less, though I certainly could, is because I'm still puzzled as to why people care what other people do with their genitals in their free time.

Why would you think that I have an issue with gays in the military..? I am probably one of the more liberal members of this board, especially on social issues. |
