In general, the acceptable basis for gender jokes (a large portion of comedians' material) is that women are complex and superior creatures, while men are Neanderthals with good intentions. When men use this, it results in self-deprication (funny). When women use it, it comes off as vindictive and the product of unattractive insecurity (not funny).

That's the biggest problem with female comedians. Like their upper-management compatriots, their gender often becomes their raison d'etre, and thus their only source of material. In simpler terms: while male comedians are happy to talk about anything, a vast majority of female comedians base all their jokes on gender, making their performances utterly boring.
However, being very sexist for a second, I don't think females are particularly funny, on average. Not as much as men, anyway. I think many women would agree with me if they were being honest, too. Perhaps that's just because I'm viewing things with a male sense of humour, but I don't think so.

This was entertaining, but she still had to make clear right from the start that she was Iranian, what's with this obsession with backgrounds? :p

Daniel Tosh is my current fav just because his material is so edgy that I know he's holding back a goldmine that's too dark for most.
