List all the new albums you heard in 2010

List the full albums, from 2010, that you've heard in the last twelve months. If you can't remember them all that's not a problem, just the ones that had the most impact on you. Feel free to discuss the influence they had on your music-making.

List every girl, from 2010, that you ed in the last 12 months. If you can't remember some thats not a problem. If some of those girls were in fact men that is not a problem either. Just the ones who had the most impact on your boner.
Feel free to post pictures as well. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanuka.

I don't remember the album or band names because of all the anti-depressants I've been devouring, but I listened mostly to emo albums for the past year. Emo is pretty cool stuff and it's still pretty popular in some circles, so I listen to it just to be in with the cool crowd....and because life sucks and I don't wanna be a conformist (yeah, that's sorta ironic, isn't it?).

OK, my serious answer is: not much new EDM because: (1) I don't really care for the general direction that it has gone, favoring production over musicality and songwriting, (2) I have very diverse musical tastes that seem to shift 180 degrees every few months or so, (3) EDM was never my favorite style of music anyway, and (4) I can think for myself, choose music for myself, and I don't feel intimidated by people who think that I should enjoy their favorite music or dislike my favorite music. That said, I did like the new Kaskade and Haley albums (cue people telling me how cheesy they are, to which I refer you back to #4).

Did I win?

I'll answer that for me: Nope. Robby did. :)

Flying Lotus's album was the businesz.

LMAO should I kill myself now or later? lol

I just don't understand some of these threads in TA I mean if I genuinely answered this post I could be typing for 2 hours just talking about the influences some tracks had.. and then I'd finish and ask myself what the point was.

It sounds more like a school assignment than a questions he's genuinely concerned about, as he didn't even mention why he wanted to know. How are you going to learn anything asking about the influences an album had on a forum full of people who likely don't even share the same musical tastes you do? Unless he just wants a list of good albums to rip to his ipod.. :o

It's much worse than a school assignment - he is out to prove to us that we're all out-of-touch morons because some of us don't like dubstep:

This forum is so out of touch it's quaintly hilarious. All the time you people spend talking about technical stuff and it's clear so few of you know anything about remotely contemporary music.

Have you ever actually gone to a dubstep night and danced to it? And I don't mean standing on the edge of a dancefloor while DJ Local **** plays some brostep remixes, I mean an actual bass night with a soundsystem.

There is no pending anecdote. I just wanted to confirm that you, like probably most of the others making assuming posts about dubstep here, don't go to any parties or have any connection to the scene. Hence: out of touch.

I think I'll make a thread to test my own suspicions.

Peer pressure is so cool........if you're in 7th grade.

I'm out to prove that you're all out-of-touch through the answers listed in this thread. I have opinions about this sub-forum formed long before the dubstep discussion, but this is the perfect opportunity to prove me wrong with a very simple list.

However, I'm expecting a lot of people going on the defensive, and very few albums to be listed. Doesn't matter if they were electronic. New albums from 2010.

Was Gorillaz new one released this year??? if so then i listened to that once and it wasnt grabbing me
same with the trentemoller one
Listened to the Martin buttrich one also, wasnt feeling it
Nothing new stood out to me really :-/.

Mostly listened to lots of older albums that i hadnt heard before this year.
G-Con
Does it have to be artist albums only?

If not then the cd's that stood out for me this year

Apparat - DJ Kicks
Michael Mayer - Immer 3
Caribou - Swim
Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
The Nationals - High Violet
Chemical Brothers - Further
Massive Attack - Heligoland
Radioslave - Strictly Rhythm
Baths - Cerulean
Luke Abbott - Holkham Drones
Renaissance 16 - Parallel Hernan Cattaneo
Bonobo - Black Sands
Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles

I'm sure there are more but these are off the top of my head.

How have they influenced my productions? Well I've done very little this year so it's hard to say. The one production I actually completed jumped back and forth from 80 - 160bpm. Something I've never done before. Take from that what you will.

Storyteller
Chicane - Giants
Chris Reece - The Divine Circle
Katy Perry - Teenage Dream

I think that's every album I bought this year actually...
