Ah, memories.

I think you guys are being a little harsh here.

There's nothing wrong with a remix competition if the prize is worth it. The track really is not bad, and like they said, a remix is there to offer something different than the original.

I just wish that when people on here are trying to promote something on this forum, people don't shoot them down. It then turns into negative publicity for that person, which is quite disrespectful.

If they are asking for an opinion, then give it - if not, I think it is quite distasteful to shame somebody who is promoting something, however good or bad their promotion might be.

All valid facts except for that "the track really is not bad" comment. The track is awful and the fact that he paid a decent producer to turn into silver bothers me even more.

It's fine for a musician to turn out if they want. Everything is a learning experience. But this track should have never seen the light of day and it certainly should not have been released or remixed. Doing so does nothing more than add to an already overcrowded market filled with ty, half-assed music put out by digital-only labels desperate to release tracks.

The track's pretty bad I'll agree, but I don't think everyone needs to suddenly jump on their backs and claim that this label is single handedly ruining dance music. FFS. Digital only is the way most labels will be in 5 years, get used to it or get out of the scene.

If you can't trawl through beatport and find what tickles your fancy then that's your own inability to track down good records, not the fault of people who are releasing music.

Clearly this contest isn't your cup of tea.

Well all credit to you for at least bothering to check the thread. Althoug I imagine you wish you hadn't now;)

I agree that there is a lot of crap out there, and yes - a lot of rubbish ends up clogging up our stores and it makes it more difficult to find what we really want to find.

My point is this - If someone is promoting something which is not intended to attract undue scrutiny then keep any uncomplimentary comments to yourself. It can do more damage to one's reputation than you might think.

Oh, my online presence has been in the ter for a while now. No one likes me cuz' I ain't afraid to be speakin' tha truf. And because I'm obviously always right. DUH! :p

And, to be honest, I find that a lot of people ask me what I think of their tracks because they know I'll tell them it's if it is.

Yes. Anyone trying to promote anything in any way should be exempt from criticism. That's one of the most ridiculous things I've read on an internet forum.

Oh, and I'm sorry if you were actually trying to promote that stupid idea.

ffs, itīs a free remix competition, and the prizes are clearly quite nice. But still, some just have to bitch about it just for bitching about it. I will check it out
