ffs, itīs a free remix competition, and the prizes are clearly quite nice. But still, some just have to bitch about it just for bitching about it. I will check it out

This isn't that good. The "prizes" they're offering cost them nearly nothing beyond their pre-existing operating costs and the profit an artist stands to make is negligible - a percentage of a drop in a gigantic bucket.

The average profit per track on Beatport is $100.00 or less. You stand to gain $50.00 - and that's if the track sells.

Don't kid yourself about this "prize" being worthwhile. The word, "opportunity" is pretty much the same non-committal way of extending the same advantage anyone has without having "won" this contest to do regular work for the label.

Don't believe the hype!

these remix contest threads usually do not disappoint :p

listening to the original, I think some good remixes can be generated from it if someone puts their soul into it transforming their own piece. there is a certain good vibe in it, plus i feel there could be some attraction to people who dont generally listen to EDM but i could be wrong. I really do like some of Nueva Digital's releases.

Hope to see more from Alucard and Darin Epsilon. goodluck to the label and the remixers.

each to their own i guess. I would not thank no to "the opportunity" to have 16 bit lolitas remixing one of my tracks.

I would love to hear several of your production samples. please post them for us to judge accordingly.

honestly though, for someone like you to sit back and judge our label based on one track you deem garbage is both unfair and childish. You have no idea how our label is run, or what quality tracks we have in our stable that are as yet unreleased. Considering our label has only been in operation for less than 6 months, there comes growing pains & lessons learned with each release. We strive to give the new producers a chance to shine, but we also have an artist roster that consists of( but not limited to): 16 bit lolitas, glenn morrison, stan kolev, noel sanger, darin epsilon, chris reece, Eelke Kleijn, ad brown, electrobios, interplay, PROFF, ilya malyuev, thomas penton, cid inc., arthur deep, kenneth thomas, alucard plus upcoming talent like rodrigo deem.

Think what you like about this remix contest, because you've attempted to make your point repeatedly about how much of a crap quality track this is. This contest is an opportunity for an upcoming producer to get his or track released on beatport, with future opportunities for remixes & and to be remixer by established artists. Say what you want, but that builds credibility for any young producer trying to make thier way.

again, please post samples of your work and enlighten us all. I want to hear what quality music sounds like, as I'm apparently tone deaf. :)

PS. let's replace the word "opportunity" with you will forsure get to remix future nueva digital releases and will forsure get a track remixed by someone on the nueva digital roster. does that satisfy you?

Certainly, absolutely, definitely (+ any other superlative regarding a guarantee).

And regarding your asking me to put my money where my mouth is - http://soundcloud.com/deepeddiezilker/sets/portfolio-4

Of course, I don't have label backing, either. I just get by on charm. :p

Been there, done that. It's honestly not all that great listening to a big name do a better job than you can with your own track. Especially knowing that they only remixed it for the money. Sucks pretty bad to have a big name carry your ty little release. :\

That was years ago, and it wasn't an email, it was a phone call. :p

I'm working on something now that I feel they may be interested in.
