Tell that to the promoters of massive raves in LA who are grabbing cash hand over fist.

Excellent if it means that raves are like this again. Pick a place, hijack it for the night rave until morning than disappear into the morning sun.

That's just hell,

why don't they just ban music with electric guitars? There's more speed and nasty drugs at those sortof events.

I really, really, really ing hate that EDM equals excessive drug taking. You do know this is kind of the reason Armin "invented" #trancefamily, that the fans are there for the music, not the drugs.

P.S. I think you might wanna watch this video about video game violence:

Just replace video games with trance music and EDM in the context.
stealthman
The culprit here is clearly the little teenage .

Thank God Armin pioneered that idea for the good of the people, and not for his own self-promotion . And did you just put hashtags in your post?

People actually call them "raves" still?

Yeah, but rock music is music, is right there in the name. Techno is just bleeps and beats to make you go crazy, drum'n'bass is just half music, and trance is so druggy even the name suggests you should be in an altered state of mind.

The names never lie!

It sounds edgy and is easily marketable to counter-culture-curious upper-middle class teens.

WittyHandle
True, but it's also all night one offs with music by DJs, so aside from the nostalgia how is it different?

But I thought "indie" music was the popular pseudo-counter-culture now.

The candy kid thing seems so late '90s -- my teenage years. Glowsticks, light shows, dodgy pills, big stadium events marketed as raves. Ah, memories.

:p
