any feedback guys?

I like the song. The break (just before the 2 minute mark I think) seems a little dry to me, but I really like the way you brought everything back in. It was a very nice build.

Hi DJ Syn, thank you for your feedback. We will take your feedback and create a new break down. Yeah it is fairly short and dry I agree.
Glad you like the rest of the track :)

I agree. I like the song but the way everything drops out like that kind of ruins the groove. Maybe try keeping the beat going in the background but fading away so you can just barely hear it and have it whoosh back in?! Other than that though it sounds great! What did you use for the drums? The kick sounds awesome!

Ok it's a fairly decent attempt, if a bit 'paint by numbers' at standard uplifting. Nothing unique but thats fine as you may well be at the stage of wanting to just get the basic right, so in terms of basics I'd say the following;

There is a disonnant note that keeps popping it's head out in the lead

The break doesn't really take the track anywhere, I cant really guide you on this as it would take 100 pages, but if you compare the break to your fave pro tracks you'll see you could really make it work much better

The sounds are all stock standard 2007 trance sounds from rolling bass, to piano and arps. Fine again but nothing that shows your individualism.

The mix gets fatiguing as it's a wall of sound with everything fighting. This comes with practice. It's an idea do try and get hats and claps that dont clash with rollers and leads.
One reason I do not use loops too much now is that I find mixing is harder compared with building each sound from the ground up and making sure it has space.

Reading this back I may seem harsh, not my intention, just trying to be honest and give you a kick up the @rse as I think you will benefit, hopefuly!!

Cheers fellas

Hi Entropy87, thank you for your feedback. The drums are from the Vengeance pack :) They are the best out their in my opinion. Glad you like the rest of the track. We will remake the break and work more on our mixing.

you should look into getting a soundcloud to post your songs too. makes sharing them much easier if you don't have one already! I'm very new to making this genre of music myself. My friend and I come from a rock/metal/jazz background so this is really fun. I'm also learning a lot from the vets on this board after only a short time of being on here. I'm amazed at the caliber of some of the artists on here.

Well here is my feedback:

The first minutes of the track are outstanting, i like the Arp and bass combination a lot, it reminds me to one of my favourite tracks last year, maybe 2 (Reorder pres. Group Number One - Flight to Soul (Estigma Remix)) . I overhear something like the analog lead of Lost Tribe - Gamemaster, good enough!

I've noticed that the fat bass present at the beginning changes and lose energy when the melody pops, i think you should improve the mixdown here, the analog lead i refer above should be more present and the bass tuned properly, it really has a groove and that's not easy on uplifting.

Now here comes the bad part, the piano part is horrible, sounds absolutely not realistic both in sound design and melody, actually making good pianos is difficult but develop that sound and add some reverb and delay, this usually adds a touch to your pianos.

The rest of the track is fine, a bit cluttered but can't judge from a youtube video, probably is ok. It is not a breathtaking tune but nobody can't blame you from being sons of this time, this tune is just as good as many professional works if you exclude the breakdown

Thank you for this compliment. Makes us work harder to try and get the sounds quality just as good as professionals. We haven't heard those tracks before but we will be sure to have a listen!

Yes we have found it hard to tune bass-line's as they are very complex. Yeah we think its really important for an uplifting track to have a groove from the beginning!

Yes we are still working on the piano sounds. We need to find some good fx. We were thinking waves?

Yeah i think YouTube might decrease the sounds quality a bit. We might upload to sound cloud next. Knowing that our tune is up there with the professionals feels great. Thank you for your feedback.

definitely a trancer!

have to agree with earlier comments, please rework the piano! it sounds out of place sonically, and creatively. eq, better reverb with maybe a slightly longer tail, and some delay, definitely needs brightening though, and it is not sitting in the mix well at all

after you come back in from the main break, it is definitely too busy.

otherwise, right on! can't comment too much on overall sound quality and dynamics because YT is definitely killing it!
