Maybe if I had come into this night with different expectations, I would have had a better time. The place was the most packed I've ever seen it on a Friday night, and everyone was dancing. It was still packed when I left at 3.

Sometimes I can get too focused on my expectations, preventing myself from having a good time.

I've been using Traktor for 6 years now and sure that if I made a switch to using it at gigs, I could do a lot with it.. however, the sole fact that my sound card could malfunction, the club's setup is not complying, or whatever other reason could be, I don't see myself switching anytime soon

I would guess that at least partially the bull happens due to some people running it on windows instead of mac os. Windows is truly an ass piece of software, very unstable

actually you would guess wrong, I would say 95% of (touring) DJ laptops are Mac's, and yes goes wrong with them too

(lol @ turning this into a mac/windows debate)

touring djs for sure ), sounds like a reasonable number

I'm surprised nobody mentioned how insanely good Deko-ze played... proper drums all the way. The funny thing is I was dead tired by 2:45 and was considering calling it quits, and just as I was having a seat to catch my breath the Deko-ze mayhem started to take off and ended up dancing all the way till 5. All in all great music all night and what a wicked crowd it was so nice to meet so many open minded people :)

First time going to footwork and had a blast. There was a cool vibe all around, everyone dancing to some great music. Friend who's house we were staying at wanted to leave by 3 so unfortunately we missed Deko-ze, but all in all a really fun night.

I'm not gonna comment on Addy. I do feel for the guy but he doesn't need to prove anything to me. He was OUTSTANDING in Mexico :)

D-Unity were terrific i thought starting out tribalish and then ending with some absolutely banging techno. It was very intense and very twisted towards the end of their set and as tired as I was I couldn't help cutting a rug.

Had nothing left for Deko-ze but still managed to last about 40 minutes into his set...simply had to leave when he played "turn me on" as I wasn't feeling so hot (was recently sick) and didn't want to risk a repeat of earlier in the week. He was excellent for those 40 minutes (best drums of the night)

If these laptop DJ's don't have back up CDs and can't play in an emergency without a laptop then something is wrong.

I agree

Every dj should carry 2 cdjs with 10 tracks on each
so they can atleast dj for an hour in an emergency cheesescratch
