It's being subsidized in Ontario and I think it's major bull. There are millions of children worldwide who don't have homes, who would give anything to have a family to love them, and the government is HELPING people have kids naturally?!
It's so ing selfish IMO. If you want kids with your own genes so ing bad, pay for it yourself. That money could go toward so many more valuable things (assisting adoptions, improving lives of children in foster care etc. etc.) It just pisses me off to no end.
It's the same thing with animal breeders. There are millions of pets that are stray, locked up in animal shelters or pet stores, and some stupid greedy decides to breed an animal anyway, and then sell it for stupid amounts of money. Worse, are the retards who actually pay stupid amounts of money for them. It should be illegal IMO.
If we can't take care of what we already have, then don't keep making more. It seems rather logical to me. Perhaps it's beyond my ability to understand since I have never had any sort of bizarre attachment to my own genes, but it seems to be so ultimately selfish of people to go so far out of their way (spending thousands of dollars... waiting years etc.) to have children with their own genes, when there are millions of children out there that need to be loved. Whatever though, to each their own... you want a natural child, fine. Just don't expect a ing hand out to help you do it. |

I don't have any children and don't plan on having any. If I do choose to have children, it will be adoption. |

There are millions of children and tons of countries to choose from. I am sure there would be some place that would let me adopt.
And if not, that's fine. If I can't adopt, then I wont have kids. Such is life.

It has absolutely nothing to do with my body. It has to do with my convictions/beliefs. I have no reason or desire to perpetuate my genes and would much rather help children who are already born and need homes than bring new children into the world. But like I said, if I can't adopt, I am fine without either.
This isn't to say that people who have natural children are bad or whatever. I do think however, that people who will do anything to have natural children like IVF, surrogates etc. are being selfish and I think it's even worse for the government to aid it. |

Plus, there is a reason that couple aren't concieving, they have incompatible genes. And forcing an offspring of what should not have been is always a bad idea.
