Here is the tracklisting, and a litte description of the tracks:

Robert Miles - Children (message version)
Beautiful intro on this mix of a classic track, I just love the vocals and the way the beats come in.
(I can't find this mp3 anywhere, maybe the record is rare? the record i have has 3 mixes on it, i think most only have 2)

BT - dreaming (evolution remix)
Another classic track remixed, with more awesome vocals, they sound really good mixing into the previous track.

Matt Darey feat. Marcella Woods - Beatiful (pulser 2002 remix)
Yet another classic track remixed, this mix is a little harder, and that's what i like about it!
this track should bring the listener right where i want them, into euphoria

Z2 - I want you (original mix)
This track is a little darker, with some vocals of a perverted sounding guy saying "your such a dirty bitch"
The buildup on this track is absolutely orgasmic!
it might not seem to be that positive a message but, everyone in life is perverted sometimes!

Lost Tribe - The Gamemaster (lost tribes 99 mix)
This is my favorite track of all time, the vocals send shivers down my back each time i hear it.
This is the song that got me into trance, and i hope it does the same for other people.
the original mix is even better (and rarer), that will be coming in a future mix

Nylon - Close your eyes
Another vocal melodic trance track, this one was a gift from a friend
The buildup in this song is very euphoric as well, I hope to have the listener in rapture by now!

Paul Van Dyk - Out There
This is an excellent track by PVD, often overlooked, but i think it's amazing.
Has some insane synthesizers and a lot going on in the track.

Paul Van Dyk - Columbia
Another PVD track, this one has a lot of energy in it, and that signature PVD sound

Da Hool - meet her at the love parade
A classic track, ends the mix off on a good sort of party feeling.

Direct Download 56kbps, 25Mb

any comments are appreciated, however scalding!

If you want, i can provide a 192kbps version as well.

Wow, not very often I download a mix off here and actually enjoy it all the way through as much as I have with this 1, mixing sounds pretty minted aswell, keep goin there John, coz I think your sum1 who needs to be entering the TA mix comps as you are seriously in with a shot :) BTW, nice few rare tracks I ain't heard in there b4. And constructive critisism... two PvD tracks together is a little risky and MHATLP may put some ppl off, but I personally like it :)
liquidxxd
nice mix buddy, good trackselection and mixing =)
JohnSmith
Thanks guys!

yeah, maybe i will enter the next mix competition. I still need some work i think, some of the phrasing of the mixes could have been a bit better.

that first track is wicked though eh? i'd love to play that to a packed room full of tired people after a hard trance DJ, so nice.

anyway, i get your point with the 2 PVD tracks... to tell you the truth, i meant to put on the second one, but screwed up and dropped the wrong vinyl, and it was too late to fix it. so, i just grabbed the other one (from the 2xLP columbia EP) and mixed it in anyway.

on one hand, i understand why you shouldn't mix two tracks of the same artist together, you need variety. but on the other hand, those two tracks are SO different, i didn't think it would matter.

Sounds pretty good man. How long have you been spinning for? I've been spinning for two months and I'm nowhere near this good. But as all the wise ones say..I'm off to PRACTICE PRACTICE AND PRACTICE some more.
JohnSmith
I got my decks a few months ago! but i spun for a few years with mp3s and VTT, and i'm very into it, so i picked it up right away.

:)
THE_Chris
192kb/s version please. :D
JohnSmith
OK, i will see if i can get one up for you, and will send you a message when i do.
THE_Chris
Thanks a million. :)

Hey,

Great job on your mix! I really liked your track selection! Most of the mixes were very smooth, as well as your levels.

I did hear a few songs drift (34:45 and 42:00), but not anywhere close to being a trainwreck. That happens to me as well, a couple of songs are smooth as silk, then occassionally, one starts to drift:whip: I just posted one of my short mixes in the forums, you can hear my mix drift on the first 2 tunes

You did do an awesome job, definitely club worthy! Keep up the great work! :D

JohnSmith
thanks u4ea!

yeah, I picked up beat matching really quick, it's easy to do pretty good.

but getting it PERFECT is hard. it's a little 1mm nudge on the pitch slider between a mix that will hold for 30 seconds, and one that will hold for two minutes or more. it's hard to get that precise, because it takes that long to even figure out that it's off that little bit.

all you have to know is, how to correct it when that happens.

I will check out your mix as well.
Devbert
good track selections
