So he's the doorman for Hyde too? Why would you want to go to these douchey Hollywood clubs? They're ridiculously pretentious. I bet no one knows how to dance. |
thats all we went to back in the early 2000's!
;)
I mean everyone who's geting in, is loving the venue over on yelp...
My LA friends from back then and I just don't have any connections at any of these types of venues anymore, this isnt our thing anymore.(if it ever was, but those venues were full of quality)
And I would not want to go to a place like this anymore either, for RR, i'll make an exception.
Good to know what we're dealing with, what the "rules" are, and now time to get the golden ticket. |

| It's the old White Lotus. That place attracts a super douche crowd. I hate it. I sometimes have to stand outside to promote and none of the patrons take flyers. They're toooo cool I guess. |

All these upscale Hollywood clubs tend to be hella small and have ty dj's. I don't think i'm missing out on anything besides the swanky interior design. Mi-6 would be the sickest, imo.

your absolutely correct. all these "new" clubs are all the same. If you've been in one, you've been in all of them. The only difference is finding the place that has an actual decent dj playing. |

Colony, Hyde, XIV are all SBE venues.... its basically the hollywood chichi crowd that goes there.... and theyplay house music on certain nights.
Robbie is by far the biggest booking i've seen at any of these venues (i'm a bit surprised to see him booked there myself - maybe its some special party but i have no idea). though Afrojack and Cedric Gervais have played surprise sets at Hyde and XIV in the past few months... |

So the guy likes to spend his days at 24 FITNESS and live to be a douche on the weekends. What's the problem?
Hold on, let me plan my weekend so I an get mistreated in front of my lady. :P

XIV...the restaurant? :wtf:
By the way, super overrated. They ditched their 14 course menu, which WAS KIND OF THE POINT. |

| i remember 4 guys, we paid 80 bux the wed before thanksgiving at colony and walked in(well we had to quickly dart in as soon as they lifted the rope to avoid the 2 table service girls)..not sure how we pulled that off. |

if you are an edm fan, i would recommend to skip any edm dj gig at the colony/mi6/all the sbe owned locations, because you will more than likely be disappointed.
reasons - most sbe places are loungey type places, no good comfortable place to get your dance on or has a really tiny dancefoor. ie, dancing in a hallway or between two lounge tables does not make for fun times. imo, of course.
also, while the crowd will be better looking than your average edm crowd, its pretty douchey and almost everyone there will have no idea who the dj is. for example, the hot girls WILL ask the dj to play the current ke$sha track - this is guaranteed to happen. Also, hot girls will complain that they are playing too much techno and they want hip hop.
also, most edm dj's that do end up spinning at these semi private events - usually tend to 'commercial' their set up - so you will not hear anything new or seriously groundbreaking stuff.
just my two cents.
happy clubbing! |

don't even try to be one of us, douche!
:D
guys, don't hate the playa. hate the game. Brian is actually a great guy once you get to know him. went to XIV a bunch of times, incognito of course. and he let us jump the line.
as long as you say you're DJ Nightcrawler's VIP, you will be pampered. ;) |
